In the place where the front of the cap was, a distinctive sign was attached - a red star. And from December 3, 1935, every Red Army soldier was required to wear this headdress. for ordinary personnel.

In Soviet times, these hats were mandatory in the summer for soldiers, sergeants, and foremen. They were made from cotton fabric. For warrant officers and officers, wool blend fabric was used.
