An item of clothing such as a nightgown is present in the wardrobe of almost all women. This thing should be as convenient and comfortable as possible, since it is intended for sleep and relaxation. In addition, some models of such products are erotic, piquant and seductive, which cannot but please the stronger sex.

Popular colors

Nightgowns, like all women's clothing, are characterized by a wide color spectrum. Nighties in basic solid colors are the best option for those who have doubts. Any young lady will look great in a white slip with thin straps or a light black nightie in the form of a T-shirt. The new season gives customers a rich color palette of night accessories.

Fans of light, pastel colors will certainly like nightgowns in cream, light green, pink, lilac, sand, blue, monochrome or with small patterns. Stylists recommend rich colors for bright and extravagant ladies: deep shades of plum, emerald, red or dark blue. By the way, a blue nightgown is an optimal replacement for black things. Particularly relevant in the 2018-2019 season remain, as before, nightgowns that combine two contrasting materials, for example, cotton and lace. Contrasting combinations in nightwear of two or more colors are trending. Contrasting material is usually used to decorate the sleeves, neckline and bottom of garments in the form of a border. Housewives are given comfort by straight or slightly fitted nighties, reminiscent of loose T-shirts. Such shirts, made of cotton or other natural fabrics, are decorated with bright, large patterns. For sexy chemises, the most popular colors include the classic trio of lingerie colors: red, black, white. Nightgowns in purple, pink, gold, dark green and other shades are trending.

Bedgown

The first nightgowns for women appeared in the 15th century, and before that, young ladies went to bed in the same clothes in which they spent the whole day, or without them at all. Meanwhile, at that time, these products were available only to a very small number of representatives of the fair sex - since they were incredibly expensive, only high-ranking nobility could afford to purchase them. The fifteenth-century nightgown was made of thick cambric and had very few decorative elements - the exception might be lace or large buttons.

Such wardrobe items became widespread in the 19th century. From that moment on, their model range was constantly expanding - options from cotton and linen, silk, satin and other materials were added. With each new season, products of new color shades appeared - from delicate pastels to bright and “screaming” tones, from which it was impossible to take your eyes off. Today, women's beautiful nightgowns are presented in a huge assortment, so every fashionista can choose something for herself.

Silk nightgown

Women's silk nightgown is an ideal choice for those women who want to impress their lover. Models made from this material look luxurious, expensive and incredibly seductive, which creates an unusually beautiful feminine look for a fashionista of any age and size. Another advantage of products made from natural silk is that they do not wrinkle during sleep, so the young lady will look great even in the morning.

Women's nightgown – cotton

Charming cotton nightgowns maintain optimal body temperature and allow the skin to breathe, so a woman does not sweat or experience discomfort while sleeping. Although these products are quite dense, they are suitable even for hot summer nights and make it easier to fall asleep in a stuffy room. The variety of such models is incredibly wide - here you can find both comfortable and laconic items, as well as seductive options designed for sleeping together with your spouse or lover.

Viscose nightgowns

Viscose is a durable and soft material that is very suitable for sewing sleepwear. Thanks to the features of this fabric, a nightgown made from it will be worn for a very long time without stretching or losing its appearance. Due to its high elasticity, it also does not hinder movement and does not interfere at all, so sometimes a woman may have the feeling that she is completely undressed. In addition, viscose is a very light material, and even a long nightgown made of it will not exert any load.

Calico nightgown

A chintz nightgown looks simple, but at the same time charming. Very often this material has a feminine print with a floral theme, thanks to which wardrobe items made from it create romantic and graceful looks. In addition, models made from chintz perfectly emphasize the curves and roundness of a woman’s figure, presenting her in the most favorable light. A long nightgown made of chintz may be suitable for “chubby women” - it will visually hide existing flaws, but will not look like a hoodie.

Batiste nightgowns

Camber nightgowns have been known in the fashion world for a very long time, however, during their existence they have managed to change dramatically. Thus, modern models can be long or short, straight or slightly flared, simple and laconic or richly decorated with lace, contrasting inserts, rhinestone patterns, delicate embroidery or appliqué, and so on.

A cambric nightgown always provides the maximum level of comfort. Thanks to its sufficient density, it is not at all cold in winter and during the mid-season period, but not hot in summer either. In addition, such products can visually hide some figure flaws, so they are available to the fair sex of any age and build.

Satin nightgown

Incredibly beautiful nightgowns are made from satin, a material that has a shiny, glossy surface. In appearance, they slightly resemble models made of natural silk, however, they are affordable for a much larger number of representatives of the fair sex. Meanwhile, unlike silk products, satin shirts are not as breathable and can cause discomfort in hot summer weather.

From simplicity to sexuality

Shirts appeared in Russia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were immediately complex, lacy, heavy, with a lot of ruffles. Initially, they were floor-length, as in other countries, with long sleeves.

Since the 1920s, there has been a shortage of clothing - especially underwear. Men did without shirts - they were replaced by pajamas. But it was hard for the ladies. What decent woman wouldn't want a few nice lingerie dresses? Therefore, the women found a way out: they found the simplest fabric and sewed the shirt themselves.

Then cheap combinations appeared. They were made from lower quality fabrics, but were sewn according to European fashion with patterns that were popular at that time. Not only comfort came first - the shirt allowed you to show your femininity and sexuality.

The world was changing, and so was fashion. Stores were replenished with goods, and high-quality shirts began to appear. Then women learned what diversity is: from styles to colors.

Nightgown models

When sewing these piquant items of women's wardrobe, not only different fabrics and materials are used, but also a variety of styles of nightgowns, each of which has already won the hearts of numerous fans. So, if older women mainly choose comfortable products and change their style depending on weather conditions, then in the closet of young fashionistas there are almost always several exquisite models intended not only for sleeping, but also for seducing members of the opposite sex.

Nightgown with cups

Almost all types of nightgowns do not have cups that support the bust, which allows women's breasts to rest during sleep. Meanwhile, the collections of well-known manufacturers also include options with cups, which draw attention to the most prominent part of the female body. Such products are ideal for romantic dates and intimate games with a lover, however, when going to bed, it is recommended to change them to more comfortable models that do not restrict movement and do not cause discomfort during the entire time of wear.

Nightgowns with lace

Sexy nightgowns decorated with lace can impress any man. This feminine decor has been known in the fashion world for several centuries, and all this time it has not lost its relevance at all. To decorate women's wardrobe items intended for sleeping, lace is in most cases located in the neckline area or under the bust. Models with lace on the hem or sleeves also look very interesting.

Size selection

Not every nightgown can be chosen “by eye”. This option is only possible for loose-fitting cotton models. If the shirt is made of silk or viscose, take into account the size chart when purchasing. Sleepwear with a fitted silhouette corresponds to the usual size chart, taking into account the ratio of waist, chest and hips.

Elongated models are selected according to a person’s height:

  • 158-164 cm - S;
  • 162-168 cm - M;
  • 166-172 cm - L;
  • 170-176 cm - XL.

Many girls buy sleepwear from online stores. You can view suitable models on the website https://akotekc.ru/jenskiy-trikotaj/nochnye-sorochki. There is no need to choose a nightie that is larger or smaller. It should not be too narrow or baggy. All necessary allowances for a loose fit have already been taken into account in the cut. A shirt purchased according to size will gracefully highlight your assets and hide problem areas.

Many women choose sleepwear not only for themselves, but also for their loved one. The right shirt makes you look attractive and sexy. Stylists advise not to limit yourself to buying one nightgown. Every woman should have several models for different occasions.

Simulation of a nightgown

Sections: Technology

Objectives: to form ideas about the relationship between technical and artistic modeling: to learn to modify the pattern of the base of a shoulder product with a one-piece sleeve in accordance with the selected styles of nightgowns.

I. Lesson organization

  • Checking students' readiness for the lesson.
  • State the topic and purpose of the lesson.

II. Repetition of covered material

  • What work did we do in the last lesson?
  • Name the main lines in the drawing.
  • What is the difference between the back drawing and the front drawing?

III. Learning new material

– Today in the lesson you will consolidate and expand your knowledge of modeling techniques. – How do you understand what modeling is? Modeling is the process of creating new clothing models. The basic principles of modeling are determined according to the formulas of fashion designer N.P. Lamanova:

  • for whom (correspondence of the suit to the internal and external appearance of the person);
  • for what (matching the costume to a certain setting);
  • from what (matching the fabric of the chosen model and the image of the woman).

This principle is decisive when choosing any type of clothing.

Exercise. Look at the drawings and determine the correspondence of the model and fabric to the human figure.

Modeling is divided into artistic and technical. Artistic modeling is carried out by fashion designers. The artist comes up with a model and reflects his idea in a drawing (sketch). This sketch is accompanied by a detailed description of the model (Fig. 1).

Technical modeling is carried out by designer-technologists who develop new styles of clothing based on the artists’ drawings. They study the appearance of the model, the properties of the material from which the model will be sewn, then select the main drawing and draw shaped lines on it. We will perform artistic and technical modeling. In the last lesson we completed the construction of the basic drawing of a shoulder product with a one-piece sleeve. Based on this design, you can create new models of nightgowns (Fig. 2-6).

– What do these models have in common? (One-piece sleeve) – How are they different? (Shape of the neckline, length and shape of the bottom of the product, silhouette)

Basic elements of technical modeling:

  • change in product length (Fig. 3);
  • changing the shape of the bottom of the product (Fig. 2; Fig. 4);
  • changing the shape of the neckline (Fig. 3; Fig. 4);
  • modeling of coquettes (Fig. 5; 6);
  • parallel expansion method (Fig. 5);
  • conical expansion method (Fig. 6).

When modeling, the combination of elements with each other is taken into account, that is, the shape of the neckline, the shape of the bottom of the product, the shape of the collar, pockets, etc. In order to complete these models, it is necessary to apply shaped lines to the main drawing.

IV. Practical work on the board and in a notebook

Technical modeling according to Fig. 5; Fig.6.

V. Practical work (independently)

Goal: modeling a nightgown for yourself.

Instruction card.

  • Draw a sketch of your nightgown model in your notebook.
  • Give a brief description of the model.
  • Carry out technical modeling according to the nightgown design.
  • Attach a sample of the fabric from which you will sew the shirt.
  • On all the details of the pattern, write their names, the number of parts, and indicate the direction of the grain with arrows.
  • Enter seam allowance values.
  • Cut out the pattern pieces.

Types of nightgowns

Babydoll style shirt

A sexy nightgown is often made from a translucent or sheer material. It has a beautiful bodice and is quite short. Great for skinny girls with small breasts.

Slip shirt

Such shirts can be either short or long. Unlike Babydol, the chemise can be used as underwear in everyday life.

Classic nightgowns

These shirts are suitable for absolutely all women of any build. They are comfortable, do not restrict movement, and also have a beautiful feminine design. Usually decorated with lace.

T-shirt

These T-shirts can be used not only for sleeping, but also during the day as home wear, pairing them with shorts or loose trousers.

We recommend choosing nightgowns made from natural fabrics, such as modal, cotton, viscose, silk or satin. Such materials allow air to pass through well and you will feel comfortable sleeping and relaxing in them.

How to check quality

Study stitch lines (continuous, straight), seam processing with overlock or French linen stitch. Smooth fastening of decorative details (bows, appliqués, lace).

What style of nightgown should I choose?

When choosing a nightgown, you should take into account all the features of your figure. If you are the owner of a large bust, then choose shirts, T-shirts or combinations. If you are thin and have small breasts, then the Babydol shirt should suit you. For nursing mothers, classic shirts or shirts are suitable. Nightwear should not cause discomfort, otherwise the quality of sleep may decrease. It should be comfortable for you to turn over, it should not be tight anywhere, and the fabric should not rub your chest.

Nightgown styles

A nightgown is something that every self-respecting girl and woman has. This item causes true admiration for all representatives of the stronger sex, because in a nightgown a woman becomes more feminine and desirable. The modern assortment offers models for every taste and color. The same cannot be said about the 15th century, when such sleepwear was just beginning to emerge, and only people of noble origin could afford nightgowns. Fortunately, now such a “luxury item” is available to everyone. In this article we will talk about the styles of nightgowns and help you make a choice.

Nightgown styles

If we go to a homewear or sleepwear store, we will see nightgowns of different materials, styles and colors. So what should you choose? This is an individual matter: it all depends on the personal preferences of the buyer.

With straps

According to most men, a night dress with straps is the most seductive style, because they show your collarbones and arms. Cami shirts are usually just above the knee length and can be made from a variety of materials. For example, by choosing cotton fabric or a chintz product, you will not experience discomfort while sleeping. After all, cotton allows the skin to breathe, which is especially important in the summer. Batiste is another material that makes you feel comfortable. Nowadays cambric shirts are decorated with colored inserts, which looks very impressive. In such sleepwear you will not be cold in winter and not hot in summer.

A satin nightgown, luxurious and attractive, never ceases to win the hearts of fashionistas around the world. It can also be decorated with feminine lace or other decorative details. A nightie made of satin is a cheaper, but no less beautiful analogue of models made of silk. Nightgowns with straps are often designed with breast cups. This is an ideal option for romantic dates. True, for sleeping you should give preference to more comfortable models. Now at the peak of popularity are nightgowns with straps with inscriptions: cute or daring, capable of making a statement about their owner.

Short-sleeve

Short sleeve nighties are very comfortable. They are perfect for the warm season. It is better to give preference to models made from natural materials. For example, cotton (it allows the skin to breathe and things made from such material will help its beautiful owner feel comfortable and easily fall asleep even in stuffy rooms). Basically, short-sleeve shirts are elongated over-size T-shirts. They are suitable for everyone and can be taken with you on a trip or on a visit.

Long and medium sleeve

These are models for warmer seasons. They are made of denser material. The most important thing is that the thing does not hinder movement. To highlight your chest, choose models with a V-neck. Flared or trapezoidal styles or knitwear with a bright print will look original.

If you choose a combination with a robe, you will look elegant and sophisticated. Especially if these are models made of silk or satin, decorated with delicate lace. Every girl should have this model in her bedroom wardrobe. Yes, the pleasure is not cheap. But it's worth it. You can sleep in the dress and put on a robe in the morning. For example, to prepare breakfast.

Various lengths

The nightie should not be too long, otherwise you will get confused in it. The best option is a length just below the knee. There are nightgowns with an extremely short length; they are classified as erotic lingerie.

Conclusion

The 21st century is an era of fashionable trial and error. And one of the results of successful experiments is the emergence of the shirt from the domestic world outside. "Monastic", long, simple and with long sleeves, it slowly changed until the end of the 20th century. It was distinguished by patterns and ruffles, lace and fabrics.

And suddenly, over several decades, the shirt has undergone a large number of changes. And what’s important is that all these changes remain. Each stage of modification was recorded. Long dresses with sleeves still hang on store shelves and are sold out because of their convenience and comfort. Various types of short, seductive nighties seem to always be popular. And wearing linen dresses with various basic (and not only) things has firmly taken its place in the hearts of modern fashionistas.
