Lyocell is a type of cellulose fiber obtained from a certain type of wood - eucalyptus. The British first received it back in the late 80s of the last century, and its mass production began in the late 90s. Lyocell is also registered under the brands “Orcel” in Russia and Tencel in America.

Description of the fiber – non-harmful, environmentally friendly fabric

The production of eucalyptus cellulose is quite expensive due to the high cost of wood and complex technology, but it is based on natural physical processes and practically does not require the use of aggressive chemicals. Thanks to this, factories do not pollute the environment with harmful waste, and the fibers are environmentally friendly.

In terms of its characteristics, lyocell is not inferior to cotton raw materials and even surpasses it in some respects. It has the antimicrobial properties of eucalyptus, is durable, hypoallergenic, and versatile. In addition to making luxury fabrics, lyocell is used as a filler.

Lyocell fibers are used to weave a fabric of the same name (the second name is tencel), depending on the weaving and parameters of the raw materials, it can imitate cotton, silk and even wool. The resulting material combines the best properties of natural and artificial fabric, which explains its popularity.

It is worth following some simple recommendations to ensure that your clothes, bedding, pillow or blanket remain beautiful and functional:

• Gentle wash - in warm water not hotter than 40°C, manually or on a delicate cycle.
• Gently spin - you can spin at minimum speed or, after squeezing slightly, let it drain.
• Ironing - from the inside out, on low heat.
• Drying - vertically or laid out on a plane, it is better to avoid direct sun.
• Storage - in a dry place, fiber has the property of sucking moisture from the air.
