Types and unique properties of fabric
Upholstery and furniture covers made from relax fabric are classified as anti-vandal type. Such materials are also called anti-claw. The fabric is resistant to mechanical damage, including from teeth, pet claws, and abrasion.
The strength of the relax upholstery is due to the intermediate layer of isoprene. This artificial rubber with a stretch effect prevents tears and other damage and ensures restoration of its original shape.
When making the pile layer, a patented form of Antistatin is used. Thanks to it, flock relax is resistant to stains and can be easily removed using available means.
Important! The manufacturer of relax fabric provides a 10-year guarantee. It includes the cleaning properties of the protective formula. Cheap analogues do not have such quality and guarantee.
The presence of cotton in the composition ensures good breathability. Thanks to the multi-layer structure and special treatment, the fabric does not absorb water for a long time.
Relax upholstery material has different top layers. Based on this feature, there are several types of fabric:
- eureka - imitation velvet;
- luxury - costs more than other types, high technologies are used in production;
- joy – high pile gives maximum resemblance to flock;
- imitation of genuine leather – characterized by textured embossing;
- suede surface.
The wear resistance of the material according to the Martindale test is set at 150 thousand cycles, which is 20 times higher than the norm. The pillability of relax upholstery is minimal - it is not prone to pilling.
Features and characteristics of relaxation
The main difference between RELAX and traditional upholstery fabrics is its multi-layer structure, as well as special processing.
The bottom layer of this material is a mixed fabric consisting of one third cotton threads and one third polyester. This composition allows you to combine the strength and wear resistance of synthetics with the hygroscopicity and breathability of cotton. A layer of isoprene is applied to this base, and on it, in turn, is a pile or film based on polyamide or other synthetic materials. The isoprene layer (in other words, artificial rubber) has a stretch effect, that is, it has the ability to restore its structure after exposure to mechanical loads. In other words, these sofas “will not notice” that a pet with sharp claws, an active child in street shoes, or even a casual guest in heels has climbed on them, since dents and minor scratches will immediately be smoothed out under the influence of elastic forces.
The outer layer attracts special attention to the relaxation fabric. Regardless of the color and texture, which can be very diverse, it has one unique feature. Thanks to the special ANTISTAIN technology and the presence of carbon fibers, all kinds of contaminants that may arise in everyday life can be easily removed from the surface of the relaxation table; In addition, it is very difficult to set fire to or melt.
The combination of these properties gives grounds to assert that relax is a fabric with pronounced anti-vandal characteristics, since it:
- withstands fairly high mechanical loads and even scratches without damage;
- easy to clean from dirt, grease, water-soluble dyes, stains from food and drinks, traces of ballpoint pens, pencils, etc.;
- does not burn through cigarettes;
- does not peel.
The manufacturer guarantees the preservation of the performance characteristics of the material for 10 years.
How to care for relax upholstery
Relax fabric is easy to care for. For dry cleaning, you can use a soft bristle brush, sponge, or vacuum cleaner. If the covers are removable, hand or delicate machine wash is acceptable. Maximum temperature 30-40°C.
Important! To care for relax material, do not use chlorine-containing products or bleaches. Dry cleaning is prohibited.
The material should be dried out of direct sunlight and away from heating devices. If necessary, ironing is permissible, but at temperatures up to 100°C.
It is unacceptable to use aggressive chemicals to clean sofas and other upholstered furniture with relax upholstery. Traces of acetone, aniline or oil dye can rarely be removed.
