Stages of work
Taking into account the complexity and labor-intensiveness of the process, the reupholstery of chairs is usually divided into three stages: disassembling the product, cutting the fabric, reupholstering and assembling the structure.

Disassembling the product
After preparing all the required tools and materials, they begin to disassemble the product.
To avoid problems with assembly, it is worth remembering the sequence of disassembling the chair:
- Removing decorative elements;
- Unscrewing the legs and armrests (if any);
- Removing brackets to disassemble the bottom;
- Removing old casing.
The casing must be removed carefully so as not to tear it. It will be useful for cutting new upholstery. Damaged fittings must be replaced.
If the previous packing is in excellent condition, it is better not to touch it. If it is damaged it will have to be removed. To do this, you will need a regular flat-head screwdriver to remove the staples and a sharp knife to cut the padding material if it is stuck on the glue. It is better to remove the garbage immediately so as not to clutter the workplace.
After complete disassembly of the product, all its parts must be cleaned of dust, if necessary treated with sandpaper and coated with protective paints and varnishes.
Updating wood parts
If the wooden elements of the chair are worn out (worn out, scratches are visible, the varnish has come off or cracked), then they need to be restored. To do this, you need to take coarse sandpaper and gradually remove the varnish and paint.
