Features of satin weaving
Synthetic satin is made from polyester threads using satin weave. That is, thick threads are used for the warp of the fabric, forming the wrong side, and thinner twisted ones are used for the weft, the front side. In this case, each weft thread is woven into every fourth warp thread. The result is a luxurious material, matte on the inside, with a beautiful, noble shine on the front. For its aesthetics, many users call this satin artificial silk.
Benefits of bed linen
The material is created from polyester, which in turn is a product of petroleum refining. The fabric manufacturing process occurs in several stages. Initially, the necessary components are isolated and liquid polystyrene is obtained from the mass, which can be cleaned mechanically and chemically. Fiber is produced, the threads are given color and the necessary properties. A fabric is created that has the following positive properties:
- has no unpleasant odor and does not absorb foreign odors;
- aesthetic;
- light material, pleasant to the body;
- does not fade - a person who sweats in a dream will not have any traces of paint left on his body;
- does not fade, retains the brightness of the color and clarity of the pattern for the entire time the linen is used;
- elastic, resistant to stretching, deformation, tear-resistant, wear-resistant, durable;
- low cost.
Satin bed linen: reviews from happy owners
Reviews for satin bed linen are needed if you are going to make a profitable purchase. Do you want to diversify your interior and decorate your home? Is it important to you what you sleep on? Then study the information! We have collected comments from real customers about the positive and negative aspects of this canvas.
We will carefully study the reviews about bed linen, what kind of satin material you can read at the link - a detailed large review has been prepared on our website.
Anna “Be sure to read the reviews to find out which satin is best for bed linen! I strongly recommend taking completely natural fabric made from cotton fibers - it has the following advantages: Softness; No creases; Color brightness; Easy to care for. I have been sewing sets myself for several years now - this is the best choice, especially for families with children. They are easy to iron and wash - and you will be surprised at the selection in stores. Many patterns, colors, shades!
Maria “I have prepared a detailed review about satin - a fabric for bed linen. I know from myself how difficult it can sometimes be to decide to buy unfamiliar material. Let's start by discussing the positive qualities:
- Ideal for children - does not prick, does not scratch, does not cause allergic reactions;
- Creates coolness in summer and warmth in winter;
- Does not electrify and does not accumulate static electricity;
- Withstands hundreds of washes without losing color;
- Absorbs moisture perfectly.
And now to the minuses - there are none. It’s simply impossible not to love satin, it’s so good. The body rests, sleep becomes sound and pleasant.”
Julia “Have you read reviews about eco-satin bed linen? All the praises are true, I can say from my own experience. I chose and bought a set of cotton threads, washed it and immediately laid it out. I would especially like to note that the underwear does not electrify, does not wrinkle - it is so soft, pleasant, and smooth to the touch. We slept on it only in the summer, we felt pleasantly cool and didn’t sweat. Don’t hesitate, buy and lay! It’s not a shame to even give a gift to friends or family, because the quality is at an unattainable height, other fabrics cannot be compared.”
Before you believe reviews about the composition of satin bed linen, carefully study the information on the label. An unscrupulous manufacturer can slip in low-quality sheets and pillowcases!
And if you buy a kit from a trusted manufacturer, there is nothing to fear. I want to consider the advantages of the material:
- Feels like silk;
- Durable, does not wear out over the years;
- The bright color is not lost and does not stain the skin;
- Absolutely natural and suitable even for children;
- It's inexpensive.
I found out all these advantages from my own experience, I don’t see any disadvantages. I buy sets only from this material; others have no place in my closet for a long time.
Disadvantages of synthetic satin beds
- It accumulates static electricity, causing laundry to stick to the skin, spark and crackle, and attract dust. The use of such bedding is not recommended for allergy sufferers, people who have problems with the heart and nervous system, otherwise insomnia, arrhythmias, surges in blood pressure, skin irritations, asthma attacks, etc. may occur.
- Between the polyester fibers a comfortable environment is created for the proliferation of fungi and pathogenic microorganisms that remain viable even after washing, which can cause serious health problems for the user.
- Low hygiene - dense fabric does not “breathe”, does not absorb or remove moisture, harmful bacteria accumulate on its surface, so synthetic beds must be washed every two to three days.
- A hard surface that can chafe the skin.
- The fabric is flammable.

I received 2 sets and was horrified. What you advertise is 100% at odds with reality. The material is very thin, the seams are sewn poorly. I am very disappointed.

I bought a French style set. It looked very beautiful. My hands were stained. I decided to rinse, the water was flowing blue. We slept and woke up like blue aliens. Disgrace!!!

Really dries quickly when washed, but not practical. It slips and gets annoying to tuck under the mattress. Bad purchase for our family.

The quality is terrible. The pillowcase with flowers shown in the photo is missing. It's a shame the money was wasted

Advantages:
No!
Flaws:
Disgusting underwear
Like any person, I thought if the quality was not Russian, then it would really be of higher quality and better, but my instinct let me down, and it would be better if I bought simple bed linen for 1500, I bought such bed linen with my husband, the cost of such linen is 9600, and then, only on sale, okay, we already bought this underwear, came home, I took out the underwear, we had to look at what we bought for such a price, and so, not only were there sticking out everywhere, there were just threads everywhere, also one edge of the duvet cover was torn! and they offer it to you for such a crazy price! We put on this bed linen, the fabric felt disgusting, the drawing couldn’t really be called 3D, as if a 10 year old child had drawn it, after the first delicate wash, the color of the rich linen we bought disappeared, but it’s terrible!! Not always what is expensive will serve you well!

Advantages:
No
Flaws:
Poor quality, synthetic instead of satin as stated on the packaging and dirt.
I completely agree with all previous reviews. The quality is terrible, the fabric is bare synthetic, the seams are ugly. But besides everything else, the pillowcase is also stained with something, and this is a new set! We received it as a gift for 25 years of marriage.

Advantages:
there is none, only cons
Flaws:
quality of fabric, quality of work - everything is terrible
I bought it on a joint venture, i.e. “pig in a poke.” The quality is simply disgusting!!! 100% synthetic, very thin (almost like gauze). The seams are stitched somehow, all crooked, unlined edges are coming out of the seams, threads are sticking out everywhere. Neither the manufacturer nor the composition are indicated anywhere - there is no information at all, except for the picture on the packaging. I will never advise anyone to buy this underwear. Just wasted money. It won’t even be useful for rags, because it’s synthetic. :(( :(((

Advantages:
Now I have curtains in the nursery))) and the children love them.
Flaws:
I haven’t figured out where to put the rest of the sets yet.
They gave us this underwear. (As many as three!!! sets!!!) what can I say... we decided to present a beautiful-looking and relatively cheap set. The sheet was covered with coils and puffs, and after a week the appearance of the linen became so terrible as if it had been used for many years. The pillowcases (which are 70*70) were torn or rather unraveled. I used the duvet cover once, and then not all night, since sleeping under synthetics is like lying under film. After washing, this product completely lost its presentation. All the flowers became dull. I do not use the second set for its intended purpose. I hung two duvet covers in the children's room instead of curtains and it turned out to be a very cheerful little window. It is best not to buy such underwear. My parents, having bought such a set, only a semi-truck was covered in stains in the morning.
Bed linen care
You can wash beds made of synthetic satin at a temperature of no more than 40 degrees, and the products can be washed well in cold water. Contaminants are not too absorbed into the material, so washing by hand, as well as in an automatic machine on a delicate or gentle cycle, is suitable. Powders and gels should not be used with chemical bleaches.
You cannot dry your laundry automatically; the best option is to let it drain, straighten it and hang it on a line in the fresh air away from direct sunlight.
The products do not wrinkle during use and washing, so there is no need to iron them. But, if ironing is necessary, then the process is performed from the wrong side using the “silk” mode.
FDJ "French style". Satin 1.5 sleeping
I had a long-standing dream - dark-colored bed linen, preferably silk. But since silk, firstly, is not the cheapest material, and secondly, not everyone can sleep on it, I decided to buy good old satin, which I love more than calico and other materials for bed linen. Of all the colors available in the store, only this set fit my idea of dark bed linen, although it turned out to be the cheapest (among satin, calico was cheaper). But I hoped for luck, because... the colors of the West into the soul. - large roses on a black background, smoothly turning to white at the headboard, with white pillows and red roses.
First of all, after the purchase, I discovered that the drawing in the picture does not match reality. The pillows were supposed to be white, whereas they were cut out from the part where there is just a transition from black to white. Not that it was critical, but unpleasant. Why deceive then?
Second. How stupid is it to sew a lock not at the bottom of the duvet cover (according to the picture, the bottom should be on the black side)), but at the top, so that it is next to the face? Quickie.
I have no complaints about the size of the pillows and duvet cover, but the sheet seemed a little narrow, as if they had saved on it.
Then I probably did something stupid. Instead of washing, I decided to iron it thoroughly. At first everything was fine, but then I noticed that the paint had floated and streaks appeared.
After the first night, I discovered that the dark set had turned all my white sleepwear a vague gray-purple color. The set went into the wash. A lot of paint came out. Next, to fix the color, I soaked it in vinegar - to no avail.
After washing, the laundry took on a shabby appearance and gray bald spots appeared. However, it did not stop being painted. The result is that it is impossible to use.
Don't buy this underwear! You'll regret it! At least in colored tones, although I admit that light in a simple design will probably be okay. Well, in general, it’s better not to skimp and buy something more expensive and of better quality.
PS: I am attaching photographs that show that the fabric has become “bald,” as if it had a whitish coating (after the first wash). Unfortunately, the photo does not convey the deplorability of the situation. It’s a pity that there is no BEFORE photo and, unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo of the packaging with a picture of what it should have been like - I just didn’t expect it to be so bad =(
