Craftswomen now have a new craft - making herbs. These products received this name because of the grass that grows directly on the dolls or animal figurines.
The procedure for performing this needlework:
- Prepare oat, wheat or lawn perennial grass seeds, a needle and thread, sawdust and a tray.
- Cut the stocking with scissors into a sleeve 10-15 centimeters long.
- Cut strips for tying.
- Tie one end of the stocking with a tie, then turn the stocking inside out so that the knot is inside.
- If the grasshopper will stand vertically, then first add seeds soaked for 5-6 hours to the bottom of the bag, followed by sawdust. The seeds should be at the top of the craft. If the grasshopper will occupy a horizontal position (hedgehog or turtle), then you first need to pour sawdust into the bag on one side, and then soaked seeds. The sawdust also needs to be slightly moistened - this way they better take the desired shape.
- After filling, the top edge should be tied tightly to prevent the contents from spilling out.
- Next, you can come up with different images and start highlighting parts of the body. In order to make a head, paws, tail or something else, you need to tie the filled bag in those places.
- Then the grass should be soaked by holding it in a container with slightly warmed water for 2–3 hours.
Braided rug
Even if you are far from needlework, you can definitely weave a small rug from an armful of old tights for the bathroom or hallway.
- Cut the tights into strips 2–4 cm wide. Depending on the width of the strips, the mat will be denser or thinner. If the tights are of different densities, make wider strips (3-4 cm) from thin ones (20–40 deniers), and cut thick ones (70 deniers) into narrow strips 2 cm wide. In this case, the finished product will have the same thickness and look better.
- Place the ring from the first strip in a figure eight pattern on two fingers: thumb and index.
- Place a ring from the second strip on top (you no longer need to make a figure eight).
A chain of tights is woven on the fingers - Remove the first ring from your fingers. The second should remain in place.
- Place the third ring on your fingers and remove the second. Acting in this way, you will get a dense chain of elements
- Next, a rug is formed, for example, by rolling the chain in a circle, like a “snail.”
Chains can be connected in the most intricate patterns - In order for the structure to hold, it must be fixed with hot glue or thread.
