Pattern for women's top, dress in linen style (size 34-48 euro)

This time I spent more money in the fabric salon than ever before. I was choked by a toad because a piece of crepe cost me 800 rubles, because I usually leave three times less in stores. But in the end, this most expensive purchase became the most profitable investment of the spring. Not only did I receive a bomb sundress made of Italian viscose in my favorite dusty pink color, but I also created as many as 7 looks with it, I think I could do even more, but that was enough for me!

So, today you will find a pattern for a sundress with straps and a step-by-step master class, get some sewing inspiration from me) It took me 1 hour to sew, and I even felt sad that I didn’t have time to enjoy the process... But for those who like it quickly and this master class will simply be a real find.

For sewing I needed:

  • main fabric is medium density viscose crepe - 1.10 m.
  • black fabric for piping and dress crepe straps - 45 cm.

Style features

In order for lingerie-style clothing elements to make the look winning, they need to be combined correctly. They should interest, not provoke.

Basic rules of combination:

  • A revealing lingerie-style dress looks good with cardigans, long woolen ones or knitted ones.
  • A top without a cape can be complemented with jeans; they should be as simple as possible. And shorts will make the image ridiculous.
  • The slip dress goes well with men's jackets. If you choose the right shoes and accessories, you will have a stylish look for a festive occasion.

Example of a lingerie style top

  • Small jewelry will complete the look with a lingerie-style top or dress. Earrings or a chain should not be conspicuous.
  • A white or black dress can be left alone; a small handbag or clutch will complete the look.
  • The only look that doesn't look good with satin tanks is sporty. And romantic or strict looks equally good.
  • Dresses can be worn over plain T-shirts.
  • It is not recommended to use high heels if the look includes an element of lingerie-style clothing.
  • The top can complement a jacket of the same color made of satin or silk.

Combination options in different styles

Linen style of clothing

The lace satin top pattern looks quite simple. How the style differs:

  • All linen-style products resemble sleeping clothes in cut.
  • Things can look revealing, but still hide everything you need with the right combination.
  • Tops, dresses and other items are made exclusively from light fabrics. Usually it is chiffon, satin and silk.
  • The most popular are pastel colors. Sometimes tops are made in bright shades, but there should not be any patterns on them.

Linen style of clothing

The main difference between lingerie clothes is that they look revealing, but not provocative. The fabric emphasizes figure flaws. Therefore, tops are not recommended for ladies with large clothing sizes. Lace is the main element used to decorate things. Ruffles and frills are rarely used.

Important! If the fabric is translucent, it is made multi-layered. Clothes of this cut should not look vulgar.

Dress in linen style

Features of the dress

This style is well suited for summer. The slip dress is comfortable to wear in hot weather and is suitable as an evening dress, for example, made of silk. Sewing is not too complicated and is accessible even for beginners.

Dress combination

This dress is often decorated with additional elements. Lace, bows or ruffles may be suitable for this. The combination can be worn with different types of shoes: pumps, sneakers or ballet flats.

The dress corresponds to a light and relaxed style. Therefore, it is combined with those wardrobe items that are characterized by massiveness and heaviness.

Typical styles

Tops that resemble lingerie can come in different lengths and styles. Main design options:

  • Option with cups. The cups focus on the chest, but figure flaws are also emphasized. It is recommended to choose such clothes if you have a slim figure.
  • Loose tops with straps are an option for ladies with medium or small breasts. In combination with curvy figures, the image turns out to be vulgar.
  • Tops with ruffles on the chest made of basic fabric. Lace is rarely used to create additional volume.
  • Tight-fitting options for combining with suits and jeans. It is recommended to choose for girls with above average height.

Basic top in lingerie style

There are different length options for tops:

  • Standard length is at waist level. A loose fit is often used.
  • Crop top - products above the waist, suitable for combination with jeans and shorts. Can be complemented with a jacket.
  • Elongated tunic-type products, the fabric of which fits the body.
  • The combination is most similar to nightwear, complemented by thin straps. Length not below hip. This combination is recommended to be worn by older women.

Style overview

In the 20s of the last century, when corsets went out of fashion and lingerie became light, thin and transparent, a slip dress was demonstrated for the first time at a social reception. A silk model with lace and thin straps (this is a must-have pattern), hugging the figure of a fashionista, made men blush.

  • Features of a wrap dress, pattern making and DIY sewing

Modern pajama-style outfits have gotten a bit of a makeover. The model goes well with any clothing and accessories. By correctly using and combining parts, you can create an excellent and appropriate option for the given moment.

The slip dress has a special feature: a deep neckline, emphasizing the beautiful bust in a lace frame, and thin straps. It looks feminine, gentle and exciting, but not at all vulgar. Fashion designers believe that this fashionable model is ideal for an evening outfit, but in a daytime dress it will be too provocative. But if you choose the right pair for it, the image will blow everyone away without any additional work.

Necessary materials

To sew a silk linen top yourself, you need to have a sufficient amount of base fabric and lace for decoration as desired. But silk is not the main material used to create clothes in this style.

  • Silk is one of the most expensive materials. The fabric hugs the body nicely. Even in a loose fit, it flows over the figure, emphasizing imperfections. Silk is difficult to care for, so it is recommended to choose satin, it is cheaper and less capricious.
  • Satin is a high-quality fabric at an affordable price. The disadvantage is that it is too shiny.
  • Velvet - rarely used for sewing tops, decorated with lace. With it you can create a festive look.
  • Lace - used to create a second layer on top of the main fabric.
  • Viscose is least often used in sewing linen clothing. This is a material that is pleasant to the body and allows the skin to breathe. The fabric retains its color, is easy to iron, and does not require extensive care, but products made from it quickly lose their good appearance.

Unlike cotton, satin and silk require careful care, so a T-shirt or dress made from them rarely becomes everyday wear. The basic rule for caring for silk is that it should be stored only in natural materials. Polyethylene, for example, leads to moisture accumulation.

Preparation of materials and tools

You need to choose a fabric suitable for the dress. In this capacity, you can use materials that are usually used to make combinations: chiffon, satin, silk. You can also use any soft and flowing fabrics, such as viscose, for this purpose. You can find a suitable pattern using, for example, the recommendations of the Burda magazine.

The dress will require a cut less than one meter in length.

You will also need:

  • interlining;
  • threads with colors that match the tone, as well as contrasting ones;
  • scissors;
  • pins;
  • ruler.

After this you can start working.

Top pattern with ties at the front and wide straps

If you want to find a ready-made pattern, it is recommended to pay attention to the works from the Burda magazine. A top with ties and wide straps can be made in several stages:

  • Cut out the trim for the neckline and armholes. The trims should be 3 centimeters wide. Determine the length from the finished sections.
  • Make a separate edging for the neckline, cut a piece to the middle of the top and leave another for the neckline and tie.
  • Apply two parts of the top. Sew shoulder and side seams.
  • Overcast seam allowances and press.
  • Overcast the bottom of the top and hem with a finishing line.
  • Edge the cuts with trim.
  • Edging the necks.
  • When sewing the shoulder seam, place cotton tape under it. Smooth seam allowances.

The linen top according to the pattern should be below the waist, but above the midline of the hip. Wide straps allow you to wear it without a cardigan or sweater, or wear it with shorter shorts.

How to sew a dress with straps. Dress with straps

Description of style

:

This dress with thin straps is one-piece. The silhouette is straight, loose, there are only chest darts, no waist darts. The material for production can be almost all fabrics, such as light cotton fabrics, linen, silk, and thick woolen fabrics. The standard length of the dress is mid-knee length or three fingers above the knee. But it is quite possible to sew such a dress of any length and decorate it as you wish. When making such a dress from thick or textured fabrics, the width of the harness can be slightly increased.

Technical drawing

How to model this style:

To make this dress with thin straps, you will need a scale ruler. How to make it and how to use it, see the article “Scale ruler for sewing.” When cutting fabric, allowances must be made for seams and hems. Each detail on the fabric should be placed along the grain thread, otherwise there may be distortions in the product. Pattern - the diagram is given based on a standard figure of size 48. To make patterns, it is easier and more convenient to use graph paper.

Front build:

Draw a right angle with its vertex at point A

Draw a vertical line 84 cm

Draw a horizontal line 26 cm.

From t.A set down 23 cm.

From point A, set aside 10 cm horizontally (the place where the straps are sewn on)

From t.23 cm, set aside 26 cm horizontally.

From the point of 84 cm, set aside 18 cm.

From t.84 cm set aside 36 cm.

From point 36 up, set aside 2 cm.

For darts along the side line from top to bottom, set aside 4 cm (first dart). The length of the darts is 8 cm, the depth is 2 cm. The distance between the darts is 3 cm.

Back construction:

1. Draw a right angle at point A

2. Place 80 cm down

3. Set aside 24 cm horizontally.

4. From T.A. set aside 19 cm vertically.

5. From point A, set aside 10 cm horizontally (the place where the straps will be sewn on)

6. From point 19 draw an auxiliary line 24 cm

7. Set aside 17 cm from t.80

8. Set aside 34 cm from point 80.

9. From t 34, set aside 2 cm upwards.

Connect the resulting points in accordance with the drawing

Strap: Strap length 42 cm, width 5 cm (finished 2.5 cm).

Material consumption:

one length, plus 20 centimeters. This style can be classified as an economical model.

This style suits almost all women, regardless of their figure. However, women with curvy figures should avoid thin shiny fabrics and stretchy knitwear when sewing this style. In this case, thicker materials are suitable for overweight women. The waistline can be emphasized with a thin leather strap, which can be bright or contrasting with the main color of the dress. Recommended dress length: knee-length or slightly above the knee, but other lengths are possible.

What material is preferable for sewing:

The model can be made of any type of material. It can be made from either patterned or plain fabric.

Sewing difficulty level:

production does not require much effort, entry-level, suitable for beginners.

Modeling options:

This style can be used as a basis to which, if desired, you can add original additional decorative elements, resulting in a modified style. Such decorative elements can include ruffles, flounces, folds, and additional straps.

What clothes can be combined with:

Made from lightweight fabric, this spaghetti strap dress can be worn solo or paired with a lightweight blouse or short-sleeve T-shirt. Made from thick fabric, this dress can be combined with a regular blouse or shirt. The dress with thin straps will fit perfectly into the wardrobe of almost any style. You can add completely different accessories and decorative elements to it. Made from “dressy” material, it can be a sophisticated version of an evening dress. This style looks stylish in a duet with a short fitted jacket, a long fitted jacket or a knitted openwork cardigan.

To set up printing of pattern No. 217 in A4 format, use “Test square No. 2”! The test square is located on the first sheet in the pattern file.

Hello, is it possible to sew such a sundress from Angora?

Administrator:

Hello, our recommendations are that the fabric holds its shape well and does not stretch; you can choose the composition at your discretion.

Irina 11/13/2019 00:46:25

Good day! Please tell me, I have O-84 cm, O-67 cm, O-90 cm, will size 42 suit me or is it better to take 44? Thanks in advance for your answer

Administrator:

Hello, yes, your size is 42. The size of the dress pattern should be chosen according to the chest circumference.

Our table helps you determine the size -

Adel Vilenskiy 08/23/2019 17:39:28

Hello! Please tell me, for height 165, parameters 91/73/102, which size is better? Considering that it’s a trapezoid, I’m leaning towards 44. But I doubt it

Administrator:

Hello, the size of the dress pattern should be selected according to the bust circumference. According to your parameters, size 46 is more suitable.

Hello! I made this summer sundress dress. But I can’t add my photo with the finished product to your website. How to do it?

Hello! If you sew a dress with a lining, do you need to change the pattern? Or should the lining and main layer be cut the same way? lining material is silk, main material is silk muslin

Administrator:

Good afternoon The lining can be tailored according to the details of the top.

Elena Muratova 07.17.2019 14:15:19

Good afternoon I can't decide on the size. My parameters are 90-75-102.

Administrator:

Elena, good afternoon! Size 46 will suit you, with possible reduction in the chest area and increase in the hip area. Before sewing a product from the main fabric, we recommend that you sew a mock-up or cut out parts with additional allowances, so that during fitting you can allow a couple of cm out.

Marina 07/08/2019 16:00:48

Good morning. Can this pattern be used to sew an underdress?

Marina, good afternoon! Yes, of course, why not. It depends on what material and what the outer dress will be :)

Hello! Tell me, please, is it possible to sew such a sundress with a lining?

Hello, is it possible? Our pattern is without lining, but you can cut it yourself.

Olga 06/18/2019 09:54:54

Good afternoon. I really want to sew this model for my 56r. Please tell me what additions need to be made?

Administrator:

You can add 1 cm to each section of the side seam (4 cm in girth), sew the layout and see the fit. Just in case, leave larger allowances if there is not enough volume. You may need to adjust the length of the dart. Or maybe it will be necessary to adjust the tuck solution. It all depends on your anatomy and the fullness of your breasts. Everything needs to be looked at on the layout, changes made if necessary and transferred to the pattern.

Svetlana 06/15/2019 18:14:43

Hello! Please tell me what size to take according to the parameters 110-97-116, so that it is free to hide figure flaws? thanks in advance for your answer.

Hello, yes, you can sew from Niagara.

Hello. OG 82, FROM 62. I downloaded size 42 and it’s very big. Which size is best? And is it necessary to glue the split lines if the material is silk? Thank you in advance!

Administrator:

Hello, this pattern should not be too big for you, the increase in the chest is only 2.2 cm. You can, of course, take size 40, in which case you will not have any freedom in the chest circumference at all.

Tell me, was the print at the correct scale? Was the test square when printing 10 by 10 cm?

Alice 05/22/2019 21:12:51

Hello, I want a sundress with a straight cut and below the knees (to the middle of the calves), would it be appropriate if I choose a height other than my own? Or is it better to lengthen it yourself?

Administrator:

Hello, it is better to choose your height and add the length of the product. If you are not your height, the bust darts may not be in place. Better to lengthen it.

Anna 05/17/2019 21:22:42

Hello, is the staple suitable?

Administrator:

Hello, yes, it will do!

Polyanskikh Natalya 05/14/2019 23:59:10

I liked the pattern. I made myself a sundress for study and work from checkered fabric to wear with blouses. I made the bottom straight and without cuts. I would like a similar pattern for larger sizes. My mother has long dreamed of a sundress to wear with blouses in winter and T-shirts in summer. Her chest size is 124, waist 117, hips 135.

Administrator:

Hello Natalya, thank you very much for your feedback! Glad you liked the pattern! We'll think about the larger size.

16.04.2019 00:41:19

Good afternoon Please tell me how to narrow a sundress and make a straight trapezoid?

Administrator:

Hello, you can adjust along the side seams, remove as much as you need at the bottom and draw new lines for the side seams.

Maria 04/05/2019 21:55:42

Hello. Tell me, according to my standards, I am size 42 with a height group of 152-158. But your patterns start from 158 height. Tell me what size to choose. And will I need to make any adjustments?

Administrator:

Hello, size should be determined by chest circumference. If you have a chest circumference of 84, then size 42 will suit you. Height should be 158-164. It may be necessary to move the chest darts; this can be determined during the fitting.

Ekaterina Bizyaeva 03/27/2019 00:46:22

Good afternoon. I downloaded the pattern, but I can’t print it. Test square No. 2 with the actual print size comes out to 10x10, and then the pattern itself does not fit.

Administrator:

Hello, When printing, check the "orientation" setting. This setting should be set to “self-portrait/album”; due to incorrect orientation, the margins of the sheet may move.

Try a different scale setting, not "real size" but "custom scale". Set it to the desired percentage, with which the test square will be 10 by 10 cm. Usually this is 100%, but your printer settings may differ.

With the same settings, with which the test square is printed exactly 10 by 10 cm, with a letter and number in the upper left corner and with margins on all 4 sides, you need to print the pattern. Then the pattern will be the correct size, with margins and numbering.

If you are printing from a browser, please note that printing from the browser may not print correctly. It is better to print the pattern by first downloading it to your device.

Hello. For OG 95 what size should I take? I don’t understand: 48 in the table is Russian size?

Administrator:

Hello, yes, we have Russian sizes. Size 48 is suitable for bust size 95

Diana 03/05/2019 00:04:32

Good afternoon

I am sewing a sundress using this pattern. I chose the size in accordance with my measurements (height 156, OG 74, OT 60, OB 86), that is, size 38 height 158-164. After trying on the model, it turned out that the sundress was very large and weighed the same on me as on the mannequin in the video on sewing this model. The length turned out to be below the knee and I reduced it by 10 cm. The sundress turned out to be wide, so I pinned 1.5 cm on the sides. I lowered the armhole by the same amount. And then the grooves. Since the front part was bristling like a tail, I did the same manipulations as in the video: I made cuts to the center of the chest and spread them apart. You can see what happened in the attached photos. The chest undercut is now only 7mm. Question: should I leave an undercut? Or does it turn out that with my proportions it is not needed at all?

Administrator:

Hello, I consulted with the designer - it is better to leave the chest dart.

Natalya 02/15/2019 02:33:12

Tell me, please, if the fabric has a pattern, is it possible not to make cuts on the sides?

Administrator:

Hello, yes you can!

Evgenia Rudenko 02/06/2019 20:03:35

Hello, can you tell me what size is suitable for parameters Og 101 From 74 Og 102?

Administrator:

Hello, there is no need to write the same question under different models. The size of the product is selected according to the measurements of your body, and will be the same for different models of shoulder products. Since it is selected according to chest circumference. For waist products, it may differ, as it is selected according to the circumference of the hips.

For shoulder items (dresses, blouses, coats) your size is 50. For waist items (skirts, trousers) your size is 48

Evgenia Rudenko 02/19/2019 10:27:50

Good afternoon Is it possible to use duberlin strips, cut along the lobar and along the bias, respectively, instead of the adhesive edge?

Administrator:

Hello, instead of selvedge, you can use dublerin cut along the lobe. But you need to pay attention to the thickness of the dublerin; the dublerin may turn out to be thinner than the finished edge.

The slanted edge has a thread-stitched stitch to support the seam and, of course, the thickness of the duplerin also plays a role. In the case of a bias edge, it is better to use it than dublerin.

Elizaveta 02/05/2019 02:22:03

Please tell me, for 86-60-89, which size is better to take so that it doesn’t fit too tight?

Administrator:

Hello, size 44 will suit you

What size is the model in the photo wearing?

Administrator:

Hello, the model is wearing size 42 and the model itself is size 42.

Hello! Please tell me about 85-64-87, height 154, is it better to take size 40 or 42? Thank you in advance:)

Katya 10/11/2018 00:10:55

Good evening, please tell me the parameters 99-83-104, height 163, which size to choose?

Administrator:

Hello, size 50 will suit you, height 158-164

Good afternoon Tell me, please, is it possible to sew this model from silk? Thank you

Administrator:

Hello, it's possible!

Very good patterns. I sewed a 100% cotton top using this pattern. Very pleased!

Administrator:

Hello. Thank you very much!! Wear it with pleasure!

15.08.2018 16:49:18

Hello, usually all your patterns fit me perfectly. In general, I have a very standard size 44, even the seamstresses in the studio praised it. But this sundress is somehow... dangling or something. It feels like it is too big in the girth area above the chest. It should be?

Administrator:

Hello, no, it shouldn't be. Check the bodice of the sundress with the patterns - have you not stretched the top? The cuts are oblique and can easily become deformed.

And all figures still have features, so sometimes adjustments are required in some models.

Olga 08/09/2018 16:59:37

Good afternoon. Tell me, please, is leather, suede, or artificial leather suitable for this model? I would like a winter version of this sundress. Thank you.

Administrator:

Hello, yes, it will do.

Hello! Thank you very much for the pattern and master class! The pattern didn’t suit me a little, I chose the right pattern for my height (158-164), but the darts are located as if for a taller person. About 2 cm lower.

Administrator:

Elena, good afternoon! Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you appreciated the pattern and master class! The location of the darts may depend on the individual characteristics of the figure, as well as on the length of the straps. Therefore, we always recommend sewing the layout before the main sewing, in order to take into account all the nuances of how the product fits exactly on your figure.

Good afternoon. For OG 92 and OB 104, which size is better to choose?

Administrator:

Maria, good afternoon! We recommend that you buy a size 46 pattern, but when sewing the model, add allowances at the hips so that, if necessary, you can allow a few centimeters out during fitting. It will be easier to adjust the pattern for the hips than for the chest.

Balnur Kubasheva 07/17/2018 15:56:52

Hello. In the master classes you used an adhesive edge, but what should I do if I didn’t find such adhesive edges in my city (with and without a thread in the middle). And ordering from you, delivery is problematic. And I live in Kazakhstan in Aktau. In our stores there is only web-braid. Adhesive, duplicates are available in meters. How can I replace it with something, please tell me. Thank you for being here.

Administrator:

Good afternoon You can make a split edge yourself by simply cutting the doubler paper to the split width you need.

Lyudmila 07/12/2018 17:20:26

Hello! Is it possible to cut this sundress on the bias? Less dense fabric?

Administrator:

Good afternoon The pattern is designed for cutting along the lobe; if you cut on the bias, you will have to make adjustments.

Daria Sokova 07/12/2018 17:16:41

Hello! How can I adjust the pattern in the slit area if I want to remove the width along the entire length of the dress?

Evgenia 07/11/2018 11:43:19

Hello, the PDF on the plotter asks for a password when you try to open it in Photoshop/Korel. I don’t have a task to make corrections, just open it and print it on the machine.

Administrator:

Good afternoon! Try opening the pattern in the free PDF shading program Adobe Reader

Inessa 07/10/2018 16:16:44

Hello, is knitwear suitable for this model?

Fry 07/09/2018 16:42:23

Thank you very much, beloved Grasser, for an excellent pattern as always! It was sewn together at once. I wear it with pleasure!

Administrator:

Thank you!

Evgeniya 07/09/2018 16:35:31

Hello! I can't download the pattern. Some code opens...(

Administrator:

Good afternoon Try downloading the file from another browser on your computer.

Maria Goncharova 07/09/2018 16:18:56

Hello, I printed out the pattern - a test square 10 by 10. But the allowances are strange - on the side seams they are larger than in other places. Maybe there is something with the settings? More specifically, on the sides - 1 cm, on the neckline and armholes - 0.7 cm. And the edging along the edge of the page is 1.5 cm. It was just smaller in the previous pattern

Administrator:

Good afternoon That's right, this model has such processing allowances

Oksana 07/04/2018 13:49:06

Please tell me, is a teenage girl OG 76, FROM 65, and hips 90... Height 167. I'm afraid if I took size 38, she won't fit in the hips...

Administrator:

Good afternoon When choosing the size of shoulder products, we recommend focusing on the chest circumference and, if necessary, adjusting the pattern in the hip area. We advise you to choose size 38 and widen the pattern slightly at the hips.

Hello, can you tell me if the fabric with the coupon will work? I printed out the pattern and see that the bottom is not straight.

Administrator:

Hello, yes, the bottom is rounded, whether it will fit or not depends on which coupon.

Everything ingenious is simple! This motto is once again proven by our beige dress with straps. Making a pattern for this dress is very simple, as you will see when you start creating a dress pattern.

So what's the secret to this adorable strappy dress? It's all about the fabric! Openwork beige fabric with pronounced stripes of patterns is the highlight of this model.

IMPORTANT!

The lace that you will use to sew a dress with straps must be elastic, since there are no darts on the dress.

Dress with straps: pattern

The pattern is given for sizes 46-48.

Before you start creating a dress pattern with straps, you need to take measurements:

  1. Chest circumference – 92 cm
  2. waist circumference – 70 cm
  3. Hip circumference – 96 cm
  4. Dress length from waist - about 56 cm

Rice. 1. Pattern of a dress with straps

Dress with straps: modeling

Create a pattern for the front and back of the dress with straps as shown on the dress pattern.

If your measurements differ from those given above, calculate the required values using the formulas given.

IMPORTANT!

The dress with straps is sewn only from elastic materials. The front and back of the dress with straps are cut using the same pattern.

How to cut a dress with straps

The dress with straps is sewn with a cover.

From elastic lace, cut out:

the front and back of the dress are from the same pattern with seam allowances at the side seams of 1 cm. Do not make allowances at the bottom of the dress, but arrange the pattern so that there are scallops along the bottom of the dress. .

From elastic lining fabric to match, cut out:

the front and back of the dress according to one pattern with seam allowances at the side seams - 1 cm.
Do not make allowances for the front neckline or armholes(!)
. The allowance for the bottom of the dress made of lining fabric is 3 cm.

For the straps and finishing the neckline and armholes of the dress, you will need a braid about 1cm wide with scallops on both sides and a length according to your measurements (about 80cm for the straps and about 120cm for the neckline and armholes).

The dress with straps is sewn on an overlocker with an elastic seam.

How to sew a dress with straps

Baste and stitch the side seams of the dress with straps. Process allowances.

Baste and stitch the details of the dress from the lining fabric, trim the seam allowances, tuck the bottom and stitch.

Fold the cover with the dress wrong sides together, baste along the front, back and armholes and then continue to process the dress as a single layer.

Finish the armhole and neckline allowances of the front and back of the dress with an overlock stitch. Sew braid along the neckline and armholes of the dress.

Measure the required length of braid for the straps. Apply and stitch, tucking the ends of the braid.

Model 1.

If you are going to create something using any method, read it, understand the details so that you have an idea of the process. Let's take this instruction for example. Look, what does point K mean? This is the depth of the cutout at the center front. Points 3 and 6; This is the depth of the armhole cut. Compare these values with what you want as a result of the simulation. You can change them in any direction, i.e. reduce or increase. The same can be said about the width of the entire product in the chest and waist area. This is just an example that shows you one of the trends in modeling this kind of blouses or dresses.

If you haven't made a base pattern for yourself yet, use our step-by-step instructions to do so. Take a drawing of your base pattern and copy the shelf and back onto a blank sheet of paper

See Fig. 1

To build, we will need a separate back and shelf.

Rice. 2

On the base pattern of the back, along the side cut down from point P, measure 4 cm and put point 1. From point 1, draw a horizontal line until it intersects with the middle line of the back and put point 2. This will be the top cut of the back.

Fig.3

Stepping 1 cm to the left from the side cut of the base pattern, draw a new side cut line parallel to it.

Fig4

We close the dart. We design the upper and lower cuts with a smooth line.

Fig5

On the front base pattern, close the chest dart and transfer it to the waist dart. To do this, cut line G74 (points G7 and 4 indicate the tops of the chest and waist darts).

Fig6

The top of the new dart (point E) will now be located on the bisector of the angle of the open dart at a distance of approximately 4 cm from point G7. To construct, you can use a compass.

Fig.7

Along the side cut line down from point P, measure 4 cm and place point 5. Stepping back from the side cut by 1 cm, draw a new line parallel to the previous side cut line. From point 5 we draw a perpendicular until it intersects with the new side cut line and place point 6. Now we draw the top cut of the front of the bodice. On the line of the middle front down from point B4 we put aside 13-15 cm, we get point K. From point G7 up along the line of the closed dart we put off 10 cm we get point K1. Connecting points K, K1 and point 6, we draw a line for the upper cut of the front.

Rice. 8

Figure 9 shows the details of the cut of the back and front of the bodice. We will adjust the length of the straps during fitting on the figure.

And as always, I wish you creative inspiration and confidence in your abilities!

Tips for DIY sewing

Before you learn how to sew a tank top with straps, you need to consider the features of working with the material:

  • The fabric is stored folded up.
  • For cutting, use only very sharp scissors.
  • Before sewing, the satin is left to “rest” for some time after cutting.
  • The sewing machine needle must match the type of fabric, and also be of high quality and sharp.
  • It is important to stretch the fabric when sewing.
  • Choose a short stitch length so that the machine sews evenly.
