Option No. 2: Snood knitted on straight knitting needles
The second option is a little easier to knit than the first. To make it, straight knitting needles are required, since knitting takes place in rotating rows. Garter stitch is used for the pattern. All rows are knitted with knit stitches only.

Cast on the required number of stitches on the knitting needles. Knit a row with facial loops. The edges are knitted with a purl loop.

Scottish
There are several options for designing the pattern.
Option #1
Knitting a beautiful Scottish women's scarf requires experience. If a needlewoman has the skill of knitting several skeins of yarn at the same time, then this pattern will be within her power.
To complete the pattern, the diagram of which is presented next, you need to start working with 6 skeins of thread: 4 red, 3 green and 2 blue. By intertwining them with each other, it is possible to create the effect of a Scottish check. But for beginners there is a fairly easy way. It is described below.
Option No. 2
The following version of tartan knitting will be easier to perform. To complete this you will need several colors of yarn. The quantity and color scheme are chosen arbitrarily, but for beginning needlewomen it is recommended to start with 3.
Step by step knitting:
- You need to start working by casting on the required number of loops equal to the width of the scarf.
- Next, knit colored stripes, alternating them so that they are located in a certain sequence.
- The width of the stripes of each color may vary. But at least 1 color should dominate the rest. This will give a special elegance to the finished product.
- When the required length of the scarf is reached, close all the loops.
- Now you should proceed to the next level of mastery. This process will involve the same threads and a sewing needle with a wide eye.
- To begin with, it is recommended to determine the middle of the product, located along the canvas. You can take a thread of any color, but not the dominant one, thread it into a needle and, securing it at the beginning, sew a stitch through one transverse row to the end of the fabric.
- Sew the next 2 lines with a different colored thread (also not the main one) in a checkerboard pattern in relation to the previous one in opposite directions in each subsequent transverse knitted row.
- Then take a thread of the dominant color and make 5 of the same decorative stitches. Then repeat the execution of the same number of lines, consisting of 2 of the second color, 1 of the first and again 2 of the second. Continue the process to the edge of the canvas.
