Tutu skirt for girls 1-3, 5-6-7 years old made of tulle. DIY sewing master class

How to choose tulle for a tutu skirt?

Tulle is a mesh synthetic fabric from which ballet tutus are sewn. The material differs in hardness. The rougher it is, the better it holds its shape. This fabric is used for the production of brooches, hairpins, theatrical draperies, large and small design elements. This category of tulle is not suitable for sewing clothes, as its hard edges can damage tights and other synthetic products.

Medium-hard fabric is used in the production of flowers and petticoats for elegant dresses. Soft tulle creates the impression of extraordinary tenderness and airiness. Expensive skirts and dresses are made from it, because tens of meters of fabric are required to add pomp to the product.

Fatin happens:

  • plain with glitter;
  • matte;
  • decorative (with embroidery, rhinestones, beautiful flocked coating).

Calculation of fabric for a full skirt for a girl 1-3, 5-6-7 years old

A tutu skirt is often made by needlewomen for girls of preschool and primary school age from ready-made rolls 15 cm wide.

The length of such a strip on a reel is 22.5 m. A skein is enough for 40 double strips required to create half a full skirt for a one-year-old baby.

For the entire skirt, two rolls of the same or different colors are enough.

The table provides data that allows you to understand who benefits from buying tulle in rolls if you do not want unused material to remain.

When making children between 1 year and 7 years of age, it is more convenient to cut the fabric yourself with a width of 1.5 m or 3 m. The width is 10 or 20 15-centimeter strips. A non-see-through skirt requires a minimum of 80 double cuts. For a width of 3 m, which is sold everywhere, 4 double lengths of the product are laid out in length.

Types of models

Thanks to the imagination and art of designers, tulle skirts began to have different cut variations. This allows you to wear them in different styles, combining them with a variety of accessories.

Tulle tutu skirt

One of the options for sewing a tulle tutu skirt looks like this:

  • Measure your waist size.
  • Cut 3 pieces of tulle, the length of which will be equal to the desired length of the product, and the width will be equal to the waist diameter, taking into account allowances.
  • Take a thick, wide elastic band with a length equal to the diameter of the waist, and sew its ends together.
  • Sew each layer of tulle to the elastic in turn.
  • To cover the visible seams at the waistline, you need to carefully sew a satin ribbon.
  • As an additional decoration, you can sew trim to the edges of the product.

Romantic chopin skirt

A shoppen skirt can be called truly airy and light. The advantage is the length. You can sew a long skirt or a short one to the knees yourself. This product is sewn from thin tulle.

The cutting process consists of the following stages:

  1. The first thing to do is sew the lining. It should be shorter than the main fabric and have a width that matches the size of the hips. Gather the top of the lining with thread. Initially, 1 m of fabric is taken.
  2. A tulle piece of fabric having a length of 1.5 m and a width of 3 m must be folded in half, i.e. in half. The fold line must be stitched manually. Gather and baste to lining.
  3. First, the belt is sewn to the skirt, and then the mesh fabric needs to be sewn onto the belt. To keep the product well at the waist, it is better to put on an elastic band.

Skirt with large ruffles

This option looks very feminine. Depending on the length, the style can be modified.

A miniskirt with frills will emphasize the slenderness of your legs, a pencil skirt with frills will draw attention to the beautiful contours of your hips.

To make such a model yourself, you need to decide on the length, take measurements of the waist and hips.

The scheme is as follows:

  • Determine what the width of the frills will be. Divide the desired length by 3.
  • Next you need to prepare the patterns. The rectangular top of the product should correspond to the circumference of the hips. But at the same time it is worth leaving a little margin for allowance.
  • The next stage is cutting out the frill. The parts are triangular in shape, their size depends on the desired layering.
  • Sew the finished patterns together. The edges must be processed.

Carrie Bradshaw's full skirt

Carrie Bradshaw's style is luxurious and combines romance and originality. All that is needed for such a model is satin fabric for the lining, tulle of the required length and a rubber base.

Satin fabric will need a brighter color, such as red. The second piece is white mesh fabric. The third piece is tulle, for example, pink. The length of all segments is the same - 2 m.

Step by step workflow:

  • All fabric pieces are overlapped one after another. Accordingly, the lining will be at the very bottom, and the tulle will be the top layer.
  • We collect the upper edges on needles in the form of an accordion. This is how the folds necessary for pomp are formed.
  • The needles are removed and a machine stitch is sewn. Anything that seems unnecessary is simply cut off with scissors.
  • Next, measure the length of the elastic and cut as much as needed.
  • Attach the top edge of the skirt to a wide elastic band. Sew the edges. The product is ready.

Long skirt with lining

Long tulle skirts with lining are ideal for tall girls, emphasizing their slimness. To sew such a skirt, you must first measure the length correctly. The belt is not taken into account. In addition, there should be a seam allowance of approximately 2 cm.

Important: thin tulle should be 5 cm longer than the lining fabric.

The prepared material must be basted to the belt. In this case, the basting should occur in such a way that neat and uniform folds are formed.

Skirt with elastic instead of a belt

Instead of a belt, you can use an elastic band. This option is done according to a simplified scheme and does not require much time.

Sewing process:

  • For a good fit at the waist, you need to wear a wide, thick elastic band.
  • Connect its ends using the stitching method. Pull it over the back of the chair.
  • Take rolled tulle and cut it into strips of the required width.
  • Each piece, folded in half, is tied to an elastic band in a circle.

All that remains is to fasten and stitch. The product is ready.

Tulle skirt with cover

A tulle skirt with a cover using a ready-made master class is incredibly easy to sew. All you need to know before you start working on your own is your waist circumference and desired length. For sewing you will need a wide elastic band, tulle itself, for the underskirt fabric - this is the cover.

To correctly calculate your waist circumference, you need to divide its size by 3.14. The result obtained is divided by 2.

For a cover you need to multiply your waist circumference by 1.5. The pattern details are drawn on tracing paper and then cut out.

Manufacturing process:

  • Tulle is folded into 8 layers. A template is attached to it and cut out.
  • The result is 4 circles with holes inside. They need to be basted to each other alternately in the area where the belt is located.
  • The product is attached to an elastic band using pins. Then it is basted to it with a zigzag seam.
  • Two pieces of fabric for the cover are sewn together on the sides. A stitch is made along the upper edge of the cover, which is then pulled together to a size equal to the waist radius.
  • The resulting underskirt is sewn to a rubber base. The product is ready.

Tutu skirt with satin ribbons

The tutu skirt looks very good on both adults and children.

It's very easy to do it yourself:

  • To achieve the necessary pomp, you need to take an elastic band at least 2 cm wide and a length comparable to your waist circumference.
  • Strips of the desired width are cut from tulle, for example, 15 cm. The length should be twice the original.
  • The ends of the elastic are sewn together. The resulting rubber ring is put on the chair. Next, the process is already familiar - tying strips in a circle.
  • The next step is to prepare pieces of satin ribbon equal to the width of the tulle pieces. Using a sewing machine, sew each ribbon onto a tulle strip.

Tutu Skirt with Sharp Edges

The tutu skirt is sewn in exactly the same way as the classic tulle version with smooth edges. The only difference here is the cutting of the tulle pieces. If in the standard version they are cut straight, then in this case the process occurs at an angle.

Next comes the assembly of the model in any convenient way: the segments are tied with an elastic band or sewn together on a belt.

Organza layered skirt

To sew such a skirt, you need to follow these steps:

  • Take 4 pieces of tulle of the required size.
  • Sew each section along the top edge.
  • Tighten the remaining tip of the thread so that you get a small “accordion”.
  • You need to pull the thread until the length of the upper edge is equal to the waist circumference. Only after this can you trim off the excess, after tying knots at the edges of the threads. Do this manipulation with each tulle segment.

The next stage is working with pieces of organza (there should be 5 pieces). We do the same as with the tulle pieces.

Next, you need to put the organza on the first tulle layer and carefully baste it under the stitching. To close all the seams, you should prepare a piece of satin ribbon for the belt, iron it and stitch it to the product.

In the future, it can be beautifully tied into a bow.

Wedding tulle skirt

A tulle skirt is also appropriate for a wedding dress.

You can do it yourself, following the master class:

  • Sew a satin lining base.
  • On the lining, make marks with a pencil in the form of dots arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
  • Cut out squares from tulle. Their sides should be equal, for example 16 by 16 cm. The number of squares will affect the splendor.
  • Each square will need to be taken at any corner and sewn to the intended points. The end result will be a very full skirt.

After all these manipulations, the product must be attached to a rubber base. The work is completed.

American skirt

An elegant full American skirt is sewn from three parts - rectangles of chiffon, tulle and satin.

For example, consider an option that is suitable for a little girl:

  • The first chiffon rectangle will have a height of 20 cm and a length of 120 cm, the second and third will be 11 cm each. But the length of the third is 3 cm greater than the second.
  • Ruffles are made of tulle, their width will be no more than 7 cm.
  • Chiffon rectangles are processed along the edges.
  • The tulle ribbon must be sewn on a machine and pulled together to create beautiful ruffles.
  • After this, you need to sew the resulting ruffle to the bottom edge of the chiffon fabric. There will be 2 such blanks. This is how the first tier is obtained.
  • Next is work with the yoke. You need to form a tube from satin fabric and sew it. Iron the seam on one side. The result is an element into which the elastic band will be threaded.
  • A second tier of chiffon with tulle is sewn to the edge of the yoke. The next tier of fabric is sewn a little lower.
  • An elastic band is inserted into the satin tube and everything is sewn together.

Seamless pattern

For this model you will need rolled tulle, which must be cut into equal strips. Each strip is folded in half and tied to the tape using a knotted method.

The closer the knots are to each other, the more fluffy the resulting skirt will be. All that remains is to tie the ends of the ribbon.

Skirt with train

The peculiarity of this model is that the main skirt is sewn separately from the train.

The train itself should be made of soft and thin tulle, while the rest of the details should be made of hard.

The main tulle skirt is made in this way:

  • Pieces of tulle of equal length are tied to an elastic band.
  • The same length should be maintained at the front of the product and at the sides.
  • The remaining free space, i.e. the back side will be filled with pieces of tulle that are twice as long as the main one.

Striped skirt without sewing

You don’t have to know how to sew to make yourself or your daughter a beautiful, elegant item.

Making a skirt without sewing looks like this:

  • Tulle strips are attached to a baby headband (you can buy a ready-made one in the store). The convenience of the headbands lies in the fact that they stretch well and at the same time have a mesh structure that allows you to tie the tulle evenly in a circle.
  • There can be many rows, since the width of the bandage allows you to choose the number of tiers.

This model can be made in an hour if you prepare the necessary materials in advance.

How to dye tulle to the desired color?

Instructions for using dye of any color for synthetic materials:

  1. The dye must be dissolved in a small volume of boiling water for better and faster coloring.
  2. The fabric should be washed and rinsed.
  3. Next, you need to fill a large, non-stainable container with a sufficient amount of lukewarm water.
  4. Add the dissolved dye here and mix.
  5. Place tulle in the dyeing bath. It must be completely immersed.
  6. Boil the fabric in this solution for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Add 4 tbsp. l. without a top of table salt for every 4 liters of water. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring continuously.
  8. Remove the cloth and rinse under running water until a completely colorless liquid flows.
  9. Squeeze out the tulle with your hands, straighten out the folds, wrap it in a towel and iron it while it is still damp. You should not try to paint dark colors light.

Synthetics do not like high temperatures. The only advantage of home dyeing is the ability to create streaks on the fabric by tying it or tying it in the right places.

How to sew a full tulle skirt without a sewing machine?

Since tulle is not a free-flowing material, you can make a skirt from it without a sewing machine. To do this, you need the above-mentioned rolls of fabric 15 cm wide, spander (rubber) thread, elastic for a belt 3 cm wide, scissors, cardboard with a length equal to the length of the product.

Tutu skirt for a girl without a sewing machine. Step by step

Further:

  1. The tape is wound onto a cardboard form.
  2. Cut at right angles along the side of the cardboard from which you began to wind. The result was blanks of double length.
  3. Measure the waist length.
  4. The elastic, 3 cm shorter than this length, is sewn by hand.
  5. Place it on any support, for example, on 2 legs of an inverted chair.
  6. Cut off a long piece of spander.
  7. Place two ribbons together and place the middle on top of the elastic band.
  8. The elastic band is wrapped around the bottom of the elastic band with a spandex thread and tied in a knot. Wrap it a second time and tie it again.
  9. The process is repeated with the next two blanks. This way the entire elastic band is filled. The skirt uses 90 pieces of tulle. They can be of different colors and alternate as desired.
  10. At the end the thread is secured. To be on the safe side, you can run the spanner along the waist a second time.
  11. To create pomp, the ribbons stuck together in twos are separated. The skirt turns out to be very airy.

The second method is even simpler and faster:

  1. Take the same double blanks, one piece at a time, and fold them in half.
  2. The middle is tucked under the elastic waist.
  3. The ends are pulled into the resulting loop from below. The tape is securely fastened.
  4. The same is done with the remaining pieces.

The product is ready in just a few minutes.

Lesson No. 2: children's tulle skirt

Multiply the waist circumference by 2, add 5 cm to the length, and you will find out the cut size you will need for the base.

Now you can get started:

1. Sew both lengthwise sides of your cut using a zigzag stitch.

2. Lay the fabric out on the table. Fold the top edge in 2cm and smooth out the fold. Don't stitch the edge! Set this piece aside for now.

3. Lay out a piece of tulle approximately 2.5 m long in front of you. Cut it into ribbons of equal width (approximately 10-12cm). For each frill you will need 4 ribbons.

4. Sew 4 fragments into one long ribbon. Use a basting stitch so that when the work is finished the threads can be pulled out.

5. To make ruffles, set the maximum tension and maximum stitch length.

6. Fold one tulle ribbon in half lengthwise and stitch along the fold line. Repeat this process with all other ribbons.

7. Let's return to the base blank. Lay it out so that the ironed fold is under the fabric, on the table side.

8. Distribute the ruffles throughout the fabric and secure each ribbon. The first row can be laid along the lower edge of the fold (it can be felt through the fabric), and the rest can be placed parallel to the first, maintaining a certain interval.

9. Stitch each frill along its center line.

10. Unfold the fold on the base and fold the base in half with the frills facing inward. Trim off excess tape on the sides if necessary, carefully bring the edges of the base together and stitch.

11. Turn the edge of the fabric back towards you along the fold line and stitch along the bottom edge. Be careful not to overstitch the frill!

12. Turn the skirt right side out. Now you can pull the basting stitches out of the ruffles and thread the elastic into the waistband.

Master class on sewing a tutu skirt with your own hands

Making a tutu skirt does not require any special skill.

Cutting a layered skirt

A DIY tutu skirt for a 5-7 year old girl requires simple cutting. With a fabric width of 1.5 m, to sew the product, it is enough to divide it into 3 parts to get a skirt length of slightly less than 0.5 m.

You will also need:

  • a piece of stretch for the cover;
  • elastic band 2.5 cm wide for the waist;
  • threads matching the color;
  • scissors;
  • chalk.

Sewing sequence:

  1. The tulle is laid out on the table.
  2. On each side in length, the following values are marked sequentially with chalk: length of the product L; segment L-10 cm; L-20 cm.

  3. The fabric is folded along the lines of the corresponding points on both sides and cut.
  4. Each of the three resulting cuts is sewn along the edge with large stitches.
  5. These threads are tightened to the length of the child’s waist.
  6. A rectangle with a width equal to the circumference of the hips and a length equal to the narrowest cut + 6 cm is cut out of stretch fabric.

  7. Hem it or process it with a zigzag from below.
  8. Using a basting mark or chalk, draw a line on the future cover at a distance of 6 cm from the top edge.
  9. All three cuts of tulle are applied to this place, starting from the longest, and stitched.
  10. The stretch indent is slightly tucked in at the raw end, folded in half and stitched, leaving an opening for inserting the elastic.
  11. They stretch the elastic band and sew it together.
  12. Sew up the hole.

Sewing a classic tutu

A DIY tutu skirt for a girl taking her first steps in dancing can be made from 4-6 layers of tulle. It is sewn from rectangular strips, the width of which decreases layer by layer by 2-3 cm. Professionals sew a pack of 12-16 layers of fabric.

You can take the average difference to reduce the width of each layer - 2.5 cm. The number of skirts is 4. For a fabric width of 3 m, the cut length is taken to be at least 3 m. The required skirt lengths are 37.5 cm, 35 cm, 32.5 cm, 30 cm.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. You need to lay out the tulle on the table and cut 2 strips 37.5 cm wide.
  2. Sew them together with the narrow side.
  3. Divide 3 m by the length of the waist circumference. If it is 50 cm, then it will be 6 times. This means that the long edge of the tape needs to be reduced by 6 times due to overlapping folds. To avoid mistakes, mark with chalk every 30 cm. On this segment, the length of the product should be 5 cm. The thread should be strong and the needle should be thick enough. The same is done with the remaining three stripes. If such an operation seems difficult, each strip will need to be stitched and pulled to waist length. The accordion will be very dense, and you will still need a reliable thread. In this case, it is better to stitch in 2 rows.
  4. Sew each gathered strip to the panties, one above the other, more tightly. At the top is the widest skirt blank, at the bottom is the narrowest. It’s easier to stitch each piece to a piece of tape, and sew the tape to the panties, slightly retreating from the previous seam. It will be more reliable if you sew the tutu to the bodysuit. If you fasten all the elements on a wide belt, it will also look good. We must not forget that the skirt is designed for complex dance and opens the area below the waist. Such fastening, as in the figure, provides the product with the necessary rigidity.
  5. The skirt is straightened on the table, with the front side up.
  6. By hand, the layers are vertically fastened together using very loose stitches, either like a quilt, or in concentric circles. The purpose of this action is to prevent the layers from flying apart when moving. Therefore, there is no need to compress the product. Wanting to make a complete resemblance of a real artistic tutu, a thin plastic or metal hoop is inserted into one of the concentric circles. These are sold in wedding dress sewing workshops. You can get by with wire.

Tutu skirt for newborns

For sewing you will need 2 pieces of ribbon 20x4 cm. The elastic band, measuring 50x2 cm, should not shrink. A wide bra strap will suit her.

  1. The edges of the tape are burned.
  2. Take one, fold the cut by 0.5 cm and fold it in half lengthwise, clasping the edge of the elastic.
  3. The parts are sewn together tightly with two lines.
  4. The same action is repeated from the other end of the elastic band.
  5. Soft tulle ribbons of double length are cut from the roll.
  6. The elastic band is tied on the back of the chair.
  7. Take each strip in the middle and slip it under the elastic band.
  8. The ends are pulled into the resulting loop from below.
  9. Knit all the blanks.
  10. The first and last strips are pulled over the place where the ribbon is sewn with an elastic band and secured with several stitches by hand from the wrong side.

Due to the fact that the elastic band was rigid and did not wrinkle, the belt turned out neat, of the same width along the entire length. The skirt is tied with ribbons around the baby's waist. The supply will be enough to even carry a diaper.

Model with satin ribbons

The skirt can be made monochromatic, or multi-colored. To get the first option, it is enough to replace all the colors with one.

Required:

  • 3 rolls of tulle 15 cm wide;
  • scissors;
  • cardboard template;
  • ruler 30 cm;
  • 3 pieces of satin ribbon to match the tulle, 1.5 m of each color;
  • openwork, with three rows of holes, elastic for the waist (up to 50 cm);
  • sewing machine;
  • 3 colors of thread to match the machine ribbon;
  • 2 pieces of linen elastic, 40 cm each.

The cardboard template should be 1 cm longer than the length of the product, since approximately that much material will be spent on the knot.

  1. The beginning of the fabric is inserted 1-2 cm behind the cardboard and held with your fingers so that it does not move and the cut is not shorter than the others.
  2. Wrap 30 turns of tulle without tension, cut sideways along the border of the cardboard.
  3. Cut the tape into pieces 15 cm long.
  4. Take 3-4 pieces in your hand and burn the edges over the fire of a lighter.
  5. They sit down at the sewing machine.
  6. They put the tape down.
  7. Combine the edges of the ribbon and tulle, which is turned so that it wraps outward from the ribbon. The thread tension is average, the stitch is slightly larger than average.
  8. The parts are placed under the foot.
  9. The seam is made in the middle of the tape. As soon as the fabric appears behind the foot, grab it with your hand and pull it up so that there are no gathers.
  10. Turn the tulle to the opposite side and sew a ribbon onto it in the same way.
  11. This operation is performed with all pieces of fabric.
  12. The thread remaining after cutting on both sides of each seam is tied so that rings are formed from the tape, facing outward.
  13. The pieces of fabric with ribbons are taken in the middle and slightly tucked, and also aligned along the entire length so that they do not warp or puff up and keep the shape of cylinders.
  14. In this form, the middle of the ribbon is pushed into the lower hole of the waist elastic openwork.
  15. The ends of the fabric are pulled into the loop formed.
  16. A ribbon of the second color is tied into the second row of holes, and a third color into the top row.
  17. In the next vertical, the colors shift by 1 row. The shift continues through all verticals. The position of the flowers is repeated every 3 rows.
  18. This way the entire volume of the pack is filled. The skirt comes out very fluffy and bright.
  19. To secure the waist elastic, use a safety pin to pull an elastic band through the top row and sew it together.
  20. The second elastic is inserted into the holes in the bottom row of the waist elastic.
  21. Its edges are sewn together.

The skirt can be decorated with a ribbon bow of one of the colors and other accessories.

Long tutu skirt

A DIY tutu skirt for a 5-7 year old girl can be long. Sun flares are a suitable style for this option.

Required:

  • a piece of soft tulle;
  • elastic for belt;
  • fabric for petticoat.

Working on the skirt step by step:

  1. The waist circumference and length of the product are measured.
  2. You need to cut out a wedge equal to a quarter of the skirt. The pattern is made on thick paper the size of 1/4 of the fabric. On one side there is a radius equal to 1/6 of the waist circumference and the length of the skirt.
  3. The same is marked on the adjacent side near the designated radius.
  4. Similar points on adjacent sides are connected by segments of a circle with the center at the vertex of the common angle. To do this, one end of the flap of the required length is held with one hand in the center of the waist circumference; Arcs are drawn with the other end with chalk.
  5. The fabric is folded into a booklet in four layers.
  6. The pattern is pinned to the fabric and cutting is done.
  7. The two resulting pieces are sewn together at the sides.
  8. A rectangle of the belt is cut out of tulle or other fabric, taking into account the folds.
  9. The part is bent in half, the edges are folded inward.
  10. An elastic band is placed in the middle of it.
  11. The belt is sewn in length.
  12. A petticoat rectangle is cut out the width of the hips. Length - above the knee.
  13. It is stitched at the top and gathered to fit the waist.
  14. The layers of the pack, the more the better, are stacked on top of each other. A petticoat is added on top.
  15. Everything is placed on the wrong side of the belt and sewn on.
  16. The side seam of the pack is made.
  17. The cover is not sewn up completely so as not to restrict movement when walking.

  18. The bottom of the petticoat is hemmed or processed with a zigzag.

Tutu

A fluffy tulle skirt is also called a tutu. The basic foundation can be varied.

Looks interesting:

  • Skirts with trains.
  • Plain skirts, on top of which stripes of a different color are intertwined in the form of a honeycomb (for this, a strip 1.5 times longer than the rest is tied to the belt every 5 base ribbons).
  • Tutus decorated with bows, flowers, rhinestones.
  • A skirt with a yoke made of a different material.
  • Tutu as an element of a dress.

Tutu with sharp edges

Another technique that adds variety to products is giving the ends of tulle strips a pointed, obliquely cut or symmetrical shape. You can quickly make such a tutu skirt for a girl with your own hands.

When cutting tulle tape wound around a template, the cut is made not in a straight line, but according to the selected configuration. A pack with such edges looks even more magnificent. Light beads can be sewn onto the sharp tips. Bows made of thin ribbons, tied at sharp ends at a certain interval, will make the model stand out from a number of similar ones.

Instruction No. 3: model with large frills

This model is somewhat reminiscent of the previous one, but the frills here are larger and are located one above the other, like the scales of a pine cone.

1. Measure your waist circumference and multiply it by 3. Also measure the length of your skirt.

2. Cut out a rectangle for the base and overlock its top and bottom edges.

3. Turn the bottom edge of the base under and hem it.

4. To make scales, you must cut the tulle into strips of equal length and width (focus on the size of the skirt).

5. Next, for clarity, we will use a denser fabric, but remember that we are talking about working with tulle. Fold each strip in half. Do not smooth the fold so as not to lose the airy effect.

6. Having laid out the base on the table, take one of the parts and gather the forked edge into a “bun”. Attach the piece to the base in the place where the first scale should be and secure it with a pin. Place the next scale under the first, and so on until the bottom edge of the base.

When determining the location of the first flake, do not forget that you need to leave a little space along the upper edge of the base to trim it and insert the elastic inside.

7. If necessary, adjust the location of the scales, and then sew them to the base.

8. Having completed the first vertical row, proceed to the second, then to the third, until the scales cover the entire base.

9. Next, fold the base in half with the scales inward and stitch the side edge.

10. Fold the top edge of the warp towards you and hem it, leaving enough space for the elastic.

11. Insert the elastic and overlap the ends.
