How to make a bracelet with your own hands from natural stones

Jewelry made from natural stones is always in trend. This material allows you to create very interesting accessories. In addition to the traditional function of decorating the wrist, these items have some magic. It’s not for nothing that even jewelers try to select combinations of minerals not only out of a desire to create a unique composition. Experts are careful when choosing materials, advising you to purchase products in accordance with your horoscope. The mineral’s belonging to a particular planet and element makes it unique for each person. Properly selected stones will organically fit into the everyday wardrobe of a man or woman, and will complement an evening look. Making a bracelet from natural stones with your own hands is quite simple, and the pleasure received from assembling the composition is incomparable. This article will present to your attention three small master classes on assembling jewelry.

History of bracelets

A popular trend - jewelry on the wrist - was invented by people back in the Stone Age. The primary materials used to create jewelry were of natural origin. People treated nature with care and tried in every possible way to get closer to it. They believed that the materials from which the jewelry was made absorbed the energy of nature and retained it within themselves. When wearing such a product, energy was released and protected its owner. The primary purpose of the bracelet is to function as a reliable amulet, a symbol of good luck. People used different materials for their accessories. These were animal fangs and bones, beautiful stones, sea shells, leather, wood.

Each era is characterized by a new round of evolution. Humanity learned and created new materials. Almost all of them were used to create jewelry at one time or another. The advent of bronze casting made it possible to produce reliable weapons, and the bracelet acquired a protective function. It was very massive and looked more like short bracers. Skillful decoration made it possible to stand out among other warriors and tell about their military exploits and status. Only the best warriors and noble male nobles had the right to decorate their wrists.

Women's bracelets appeared after the weaker sex was allowed to fight. The ladies saw great potential in this powerful protective amulet. They improved the bracelets in every possible way, which is why they began to gradually decrease in size. The more elegant the decoration and the more skillful its decoration, the higher the status of the wearer.

Nowadays, this trend is gradually fading into the background. If earlier people preferred to choose branded items, now fashion has returned us to our roots and hand-made items have become popular. Handmade jewelry is unique and interesting. They do not lose their attractiveness and can be easily changed and supplemented depending on the style, fashion, mood and preferences of the owner. Just one tiny detail, for example, a new pendant, can dramatically change the appearance and style of the bracelet.

Shambhala bracelet: what is it, what is its meaning?

The Shambhala bracelet was named after an entire country. Just not real, but mythical. You can read more about it, for example, on Wikipedia .

Translated from the ancient Indian language, “Shambhala” means something like “place of peace.” The knots, which later replaced the stones, symbolized the mountains . celestial bodies influencing humans

IMPORTANT: The main meaning of the bracelet is to be a guide to harmony.

However, this decoration has many purposes:

  • Protect the owner from adverse circumstances. Moreover, regardless of the source of these circumstances.
  • Give fearlessness . This may seem strange at first. However, the Eastern sages believed that fearlessness grows precisely from harmony.
  • Give confidence in your own abilities.

The mysterious Shambhala, after which the bracelet is named, has haunted the minds of many centuries.

How to choose stones

Natural stones have always been held in high esteem, and not only precious stones - turquoise, agates, carnelians, jasper, aventurine, in addition to their presentable appearance, have long been used as a talisman. Most often, the material for jewelry is selected in accordance with the elements of the zodiac and its belonging to a particular planet.

There is a whole science in this unknown area - lithotherapy. She studies the effects of minerals on the human body. Scientists say that we do not choose the material, but it chooses us. If the stone does not suit you, then wearing it does not evoke positive emotions, but can spoil your health. An owner who was careless about the choice can easily fall under the influence of someone else’s elements, become irritable, and suffer from migraines and blood pressure. The following picture will help you choose the right mineral for making jewelry.

Did you know that the color of the thread is as important as the beads?

Black color is chosen by people who cannot and do not want to live according to the rules established in society.

Red will help you find your soulmate and promote love and happiness. It will also give you vital energy.

Orange will protect you from depression, charge you with positivity and attract good luck.

If you are looking for your own path in life, weave with white threads.

For those seeking natural secrets, green is the color to choose. In addition, it will give financial well-being.

If you are looking for a little romance, want to dream, use pink thread.

Gray indicates that a person is prone to loneliness.

Blue color is suitable for those seeking knowledge and wisdom. He will help you find allies for joint ventures.

If you want to find and reveal hidden talents, take the purple thread.

Brown is suitable for those who are looking for harmony and love in the family.

Threading method

Threading can be considered the easiest way to make a bracelet. What could be easier than putting pebbles on a string? But even in this simple activity there are a number of nuances. Let's look at an example of creating a bracelet from noble agate. To complete it you will need:

  • agate beads with a diameter of 10 mm;
  • silicone thread or rubber band;
  • nippers, scissors;
  • accessories.

Let's take a closer look at the last item on the list. There are various decorative accessories to create jewelry. It will not only help make the decoration convenient, but will also add some zest to it.

For example, huggers. These are metal elements that are sometimes called caps. They cover the bead, creating a beautiful frame.

A bail is a metal connecting element equipped with an eye (or several ears) for pendants.

A rondel is a type of bead that most often has a concave shape.

Pendants are attached to bails and add zest and a finished look to the finished product.

A connector is a part that connects two parts of a bracelet.

To make a bracelet from natural cameos, you need to correctly calculate their quantity. Take your wrist measurement and add some extra size for comfortable wearing. For small beads it will be 0.5-1 cm, and for large ones up to 2.5 cm. Place beads on a prepared silicone thread and tie its ends with a straight knot. Cut off the excess thread, leaving tails 0.5 cm long. Tuck them inside the bead. This is what a regular low top looks like.

In the photo below you can see how decorative fittings can transform a boring bracelet into a fashionable accessory.

And this picture illustrates the correct tying of a straight knot.

Use of special fittings

The next master class is devoted to making a carnelian bracelet. Special fittings will be used for its assembly. You will need:

  • carnelian beads;
  • silicone thread;
  • pin with eye – 2 pieces;
  • clasp;
  • chain;
  • decorative metal beads and pendants;
  • connecting rings – 4 pieces;
  • wire cutters and round nose pliers.

Use a metal pin to mask the ends of the fishing line. To attach this part to a bead, you need to put the bead on and form a loop from the open end using pliers. Carefully bite off the remaining wire tail and crimp it carefully so that it does not injure your hand when worn.

Prepare another bead using the described method. The string for the set is attached to the eye of the bead.

The size of the decorative metal bead that will be placed next should be such that the eye of the pin is completely hidden inside.

Attach the silicone thread with a double knot to the eye beads. String the required number of beads and decor and align the ends of the lines in the middle of the bracelet. Tie them with a straight knot. Pass the ends of the fishing line to the eye of the pin and duplicate the knots. Cut off excess thread. The knots will be securely hidden under the metal beads.

Now you need to attach the clasp. It will be easily adjustable due to the chain. Attach three links to one of the bracelet's ears, and attach 7-8 links to the second. The structure is attached using connecting rings.

Attach a clasp and add beautiful pendants to the ends of the product.

The stylish carnelian bracelet is ready.

DIY men's bracelets made from stones

To start making men's bracelets with your own hands, find out what accessories are in fashion.

Strict Shambhala bracelets are more relevant than ever. The secret of their popularity is that they are universal: both men and women can wear them.

You can make bracelets with your own hands from ornamental, semi-precious and even precious stones. A bunch can contain stones of different textures, colors and shapes.

Learn how to make a Shambhala bracelet from hematite. For this you will need the following materials:

  • silk cord - 2.2 m;
  • hematite beads - 7 pcs. diameter 1 cm, 2 pcs. —diameter 0.2 cm;
  • metal beads with decorative elements - 3 pcs.

Cream and condensed milk for cake decoration

You will also need some supplies and equipment: glue, a tablet with a clip (or binder), scissors.

The uniqueness of the technique of weaving bracelets of the Shambhala type is that for this they use three cords, on one of which faceted stones with holes are strung, and the other two are braided around them.

To avoid mistakes and cut the cords to the required length, read the recommendations:

  • The cord for beads should be no shorter than 50 cm.

To determine the required length, add up three numbers: the circumference of the arm at a place that is 3 cm above the wrist, two lengths of the “tails” and three lengths for the braided clasp.

  • The two laces that will braid the beads must be no shorter than 70 cm.

At the beginning of weaving, connect three laces together, align the ends and tie them with a loose knot, leaving 6 cm sections free. Secure the knot with a clip in the tablet or a binder and begin weaving the bracelet.

Keratin for hair: harm and benefit

Make sure that the central cord on which the beads are placed is always taut.

To prevent the ends of the lace from fraying, lubricate them with glue at the beginning of work.

The weaving pattern is as follows:

  • Place on the central lace first the thread on the left (hereinafter referred to as the left-hand lace), and then the one on the right (right-hand lace).
  • Pull the right-hand lace under the center one and lay it over the left-hand one. Tighten the loop.
  • Pull the right-sided lace under the central one and lay it on top of the left-sided one. Then place the left-side lace on top of the center one.
  • Pass the left-hand lace under the right-hand lace and tighten the loop again. The result will be a whole square flat knot made using the macrame technique.

  • Weave two more such complete knots.
  • Thread the first hematite bead onto the center cord. After this, weave a full knot using the technique described above. To make a knot under the bead, braid it with left-handed and right-handed laces.

  • Place a metal bead on the center cord and tie a full knot underneath it again.
  • Continue weaving, alternating beads and knots.
  • Once you have woven all the beads and tied two full knots, turn the bracelet inside out and tie the remaining ends of the left and right cords with a traditional knot.
  • Lubricate the final knot with glue. Once dry, trim the remaining ends of the right-hand and left-hand laces as close to the center as possible.
  • Release the second end from the binder, untie the starting knot and secure the ends of the side cords in the manner described above.

To make a clasp, take a new lace about 30 cm. Wrap the accessory around your fingers so that its free ends point in different directions in relation to each other after crossing.

Fold a short loose cord in half and wrap it around the crossed ends of the product. Use it to tie a full macramé knot, placing the center laces of the bracelet in the center and the ends of the new lace on the sides.

Weave a chain of square knots according to the pattern described above. String smaller hematite beads onto the free ends of the bracelet (the central cords that remain after weaving the bracelet).

Tie a large knot under the beads and cut off the excess. Secure it with glue.

The main components for creating a Shambhala amulet

Weaving does not require complex and expensive materials; it is enough to purchase the following items:

  • A strong rope or lace, leather, waxed or synthetic, as well as paracord threads are suitable;
  • Wooden beads or stones in the desired color or colors. Materials of natural origin carry a much stronger energy charge, so you should give preference to stones and wood.

Also, don’t forget about the tools: scissors, ruler, tape, glue or lighter.

The color of the cord and beads is of great importance, because not only materials, but also colors carry different energies, which means they can serve different purposes.

How to weave a bracelet step by step

For the bracelet you will need three cords about 50 cm long, which must be tied together in a knot. For convenience, you can secure the ends of the threads with tape on a horizontal surface.

The algorithm for weaving knots is quite simple and consists of two steps that alternate with each other. In this case, the middle thread remains practically motionless. The beads will be placed on it in the future.

First step. We place the left cord on the middle one, creating a loop on the left. We shift the right cord so that it is on the free part of the left one, but under the middle one. Next, from the bottom up, carefully pull the right one into the loop formed between the middle and left cords. Now we tighten the resulting knot, in the middle of which there should be a middle fixed thread.

Second step. It is necessary to perform the same actions, but change the position of the threads: the left cord will go under the middle one, and the right one will go under the left one, but above the middle one. We pull the right cord into the loop again, but now from top to bottom. Tighten the knot. A knot formed after both steps will be considered a complete knot.

We alternate steps until approximately a quarter of the entire bracelet is ready. Now let's get back to the beads. We put the first bead on the middle cord, place it as closely as possible to the already completed knots, and then repeat step one again, braiding the bead with threads. Next, we weave several knots (depending on the size of the selected beads) and add the next one.

After the required number of beads are woven into the cords, you can return to repeating the first and second steps. In order to create neat ends, repeat step one, tighten the knot tightly, coat it with glue and, after complete drying, cut off the left and right threads. We do the same with the beginning of weaving, having previously untied the initial knot.

Schemes and tips

On the Internet you can find many weaving patterns that differ only in the algorithm for creating nodes

It is also worth paying attention to the various ways to attach a bracelet to your hand: adjustable clasps, various knots and ready-made fittings for fastening. In addition, you can make the lock yourself using the same knots, if you take a separate cord for this and instead of the middle thread use the ends of the amulet, folded together in opposite directions

DIY bead bracelets made from stones

Any homemade jewelry helps brighten your image and improve your mood. When you make bracelets yourself, you put your soul into the work.

Happy Wedding Day: Happy Anniversary Congratulations

Since before you make an accessory, you think in advance about how it will look and what suit it will go with, you immediately select the appropriate materials.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with a master class on making a bracelet from agate beads.

To work you will need:

  • agate beads;
  • silicone thread;
  • accessories (pendants, huggers, rondels, bails, small metal beads).

Photo: 482ua.com: UGC

To determine the size of thread for a bracelet, measure the circumference of your wrist. The thread should be 2.5 cm longer than the resulting double measurement. Typically a length of 50 cm is required. Thread the thread through a needle, connect the ends and tie a knot at the end.

Start stringing beads onto the thread. Alternate agate beads with rondels or small metal beads.

Decorate the row with hugger beads that will partially cover them on both sides.

To decorate the product, insert pendants and alternate agate beads of different shades.

Photo: 482ua.com: UGC

When the length of the bracelet with beads strung on it becomes sufficient, tie the thread.

Before you tie the knot, make sure that the thread along the entire length of the bracelet is well stretched (pull the ends from under the beads by about 2 cm).

When you string the beads, make sure the tension is correct. This is important: after finishing the work, the beads must fit tightly to each other.

There are two ways to make a reliable node:

  • Use the straight knot knitting technique.

To do this, first tie a regular knot at the ends, and then a second one in a mirror order.

  • Tie the ends with a surgical knot. Take one end of the thread and wrap it around the second cord twice.

After this, use the working end to make a loop and tie a knot as usual.

When you tie the final knot on the bracelet, trim the ends, leaving 5 mm. Then hide them in the adjacent beads.

To complete your look, you use different techniques and accessories: scarves, brooches, beads. But I especially like the bracelets. They are appropriate almost everywhere and always bring their own zest to the wardrobe. And, by the way, making a bracelet with your own hands is quite simple, and such an accessory will be an excellent expression of your individuality.

What to make a bracelet from - everyone decides for themselves, depending on their feelings. Well, today I’ll show you how easy it is to create bracelets from natural stones. It took me about an hour to create these three bracelets.

To make bracelets from natural stones we will need:

A few words about the choice of materials for bracelets made of natural stones.

Since ancient times, people have noticed the subtle magical effect of stones on humans. Now you can find many different descriptions of the properties of gems, ranging from the effect on certain organs to compatibility with your zodiac sign. But personally, I don’t know all these intricacies and choose what causes an inner feeling that this particular gem(s) is needed at the moment, they seem to attract themselves.

When choosing hats, it would be a good idea to try them on with beads. They should be the right size for them, not stick out beyond the beads, but also not be too small. And we will return to the manufacturing process.

Handicraft workshops

Dear needlewomen!

I bring to your attention a master class where we will create simple, but at the same time very beautiful beads and bracelets, amulets from natural stone on silicone thread. Decoration can not only be aesthetic, but also be a talisman for you. In the summer we wear revealing clothes and this is a reason to decorate our body, and if these products are made with our own hands, it is doubly nice.

You can choose stones according to your zodiac sign. All signs have their own mascot stones. Stones help their owners maintain health, achieve success in life, in creativity, in career growth, and protect against evil forces. Only natural stones have real power.

  • Let’s quickly list which zodiac sign is helped by which stone:
  • Aries - amethyst, heliotrope, rock crystal, ruby, tektite, prehnite, pyrite.
  • Taurus – jade, agate, turquoise, amazonite, aventurine.
  • Gemini - beryl, garnet, agate, chrysoprase.
  • Cancers – emeralds, calcite, moonstone, pearls.
  • Lions - ruby, serpentine, amber, obsidian.
  • Virgo - jasper, jade, carnelian, sagilite, tiger's eye.
  • Libra – diamond, jade, malachite, aquamarine.
  • Scorpio – opal, cat's eye, hematite, topaz, garnet.
  • Sagittarius – turquoise, lapis lazuli, obsidian, alexandrite, chrysocolla.
  • Capricorn - onyx, malachite, obsidian, hawk's eye.
  • Aquarius – sapphire, obsidian, chrysoprase.
  • Pisces – peridot, moonstone, pearls, aquamarine, coral.
  • We choose stones from which we will create accessories.
  • We take what is needed for production.

How to make a bracelet from natural stones with your own hands

First, let's prepare the pendants. Unclench the rings slightly. We pass the ring through the eye of the bail and pendant. These are the three blanks we will use further.

We take 0.5 m of elastic thread (this is a special thin elastic band that is used to create jewelry without fasteners), insert it into a needle and tie the ends into a knot.

We place the first metal bead on the thread, then one of agate, and then another one of metal. Leave a distance of 5-7 cm to the knot so that later you can easily tie the final knot.

The next element is a bead with caps. First we string one cap with a bend to the previous bead, then the main bead. Then we thread the second cap, thereby covering the agate, and then again a small metal bead.

We continue to string beads, alternating metal with agate, with or without caps. You can insert several dark agate beads.

Next, approximately in the center of our thread, we insert a bail with a pendant instead of the main bead. Please note that the size of the bail must match the size of the beads.

We bring the thread to the required length (for thinner wrists, the number of beads may have to be reduced, and for more curvy ones, vice versa). Our bracelet made of natural stones is almost ready. Perhaps the most difficult thing remains - tying the knot.

How to tie a knot on an elastic bracelet

To tie my elastic bracelet, I used a simple surgeon's knot. It's quite easy to do. But I still recommend that you first practice on cats with an unnecessary piece of thread.

When you tie the bracelet, be sure to tighten the thread, for which you pull the ends from under the beads by 2 cm (approximately the thickness of your thumb when pressed), squeeze the thread tightly so that it does not slip back.

Do not neglect this thread tension, because otherwise the thread will be visible between the beads on the finished product, and the bracelet itself will be too flimsy and clumsy.

Scheme for tying a surgical knot on a bracelet

With one end of the thread we circle the other end twice. This is the first part of the node (Fig. 1). Then we make a loop (Fig. 3) and tie the second part of the knot as usual (Fig. 3).

Pay attention to this important point: the loop from one end of the thread should pass either above or below the second end. That is, you need to knit the second part of the knot in the opposite direction. Otherwise, your knot may come undone.

We tighten the ends (Fig. 4), cut them off with scissors, leaving a couple of mm. And then we hide the knot in the nearest bead.

All! Our cute bracelet made of natural stones is ready! Very simple, but at the same time quite cute and stylish.

To complete the composition, I made another similar bracelet from white agate, but with a different pendant. And the third bracelet is made of very pleasant to the touch and beautiful velvet agate (I couldn’t resist when I saw these beads in the store, they are simply gorgeous!).

Here's a little selfie of how this bracelet looks on your hand :)))))

Experiment. Select those stones that give you a confident feeling inside that this is exactly what you need right now. Play with the sizes of stones and accessories, this is a very exciting activity!

Wear things made with love, enjoy these extraordinary moments, and the world will answer you in kind!

And I have a couple more tutorials on making bracelets with my own hands waiting in the wings. So don't miss out!

All the best! And see you soon! Your brownie Elena.

Kinds

The Shambhala bracelet in its classic modern design is a series of beads intertwined with thread. In this case, jewelry can be arranged either in one row or in several - double, triple bracelets. The number “three” is sacred in many religions, and, as a rule, the maximum number of rows in a bracelet is also three. Such a wide bracelet will add a unique flair to your style. It should be noted that the rule of “three” also applies to wearing no more than three such products on the right hand at the same time. There are also very interesting examples with woven watches, chains, and crosses.

Threading method

Threading can be considered the easiest way to make a bracelet. What could be easier than putting pebbles on a string? But even in this simple activity there are a number of nuances. Let's look at an example of creating a bracelet from noble agate. To complete it you will need:

  • agate beads with a diameter of 10 mm;
  • silicone thread or rubber band;
  • nippers, scissors;

  • carnelian beads;
  • silicone thread;
  • pin with eye – 2 pieces;
  • clasp;
  • chain;
  • decorative metal beads and pendants;
  • connecting rings – 4 pieces;

Original combination

The combination of large beads and stone chips looks very original. The photo instructions will help you make a unique bracelet with such a duet. The work process consists of the same lowering.

How to make a bracelet from stones with your own hands?

There are many different techniques, everyone can choose to their taste. Sometimes the stones themselves dictate the style: a specific shape or size.

The elegance of natural stone

For this model, you should take a special wire with a memory effect - it is already twisted into rings that fit perfectly on a hand of any size.

Measure out the required number of wire rings - as many rows as your bracelet will have. Or a little more - if the stones are large, the rings will be a little wider and more wire will be needed. In any case, cutting off excess wire is easier than adding the missing length.

String the beads in any order, matching them harmoniously in color and texture. You can place beads or special metal separator beads between the beads; with them the product will be more impressive.

When you have the required number of rows, attach the second part of the lock. Cut off the excess wire.

Advice! In such bracelets, unusual shapes of stones look especially impressive: geodes and druses. But often they do not have a through hole, but are framed with ears. In this case, the wire can be cut in the right place, and the stone can be attached in the same way as we attached the lock.

Berries

Using natural stone, you can imitate other natural forms - for example, berries or bunches of flowers. To do this you will need a chain and small jewelry pins.

Each stone bead is put on a separate pin and, with its help, is attached to a chain link (photo). Quite dense, several beads per link.

The free end of the pin is bent with pliers into a ring on a chain link, and the excess length is cut off.

Among the stones you can place decorative elements - for example, glass or metal leaves, flowers or buds.

A lock is attached to the ends of the chain.

A bunch of ripe berries is ready!

Advice! Bright colored berry beads can be diluted with small beads of a suitable shade of green - not all berries ripen at the same time. Let's add realism to the bracelet!

Crystals

For this option you will need large beads with a raw stone effect.

Simply string them on a strong jewelry cord, diluted with other stone beads or separators.

Advice! The “berries” from the previous version will look great as a separator. In this case, the pins are attached directly to the cable. If you decide to dilute the crystals with metal fittings, elements of natural, brutal textures will do.

Corals

This material pairs well with natural stones, adding color and drama.

It is better to make a bracelet with corals on a thin wire. Heavy stones are strung on several wires at once, when it comes to lighter corals, they are strung on each wire individually, creating the volume and chaos of a real coral reef.

How to finish a Shambhala bracelet, how to weave a clasp: tips, recommendations, photos

If you want the Shambhala bracelet to be adjustable, you should finish knitting it by creating a special clasp. In this case, there is no need to connect the ends of the bracelet.

Instead, it is better to prepare a separate lace. It is desirable, of course, that it harmonizes with the bracelet both in shade and texture. If possible, it is better to completely cut off a piece of lace for the fastener from the main one in advance.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended to prepare a piece of cord approximately 50 cm long for the bracelet clasp.

Once such a cord is prepared, you need to fold the ends of the bracelet parallel to each other. And with a cord prepared for fastening, you should tie knots around the ends of the bracelet.

You can start forming the clasp for the Shambhala bracelet like this:

Such knots will serve as the basis for the clasp for the Shambhala bracelet.

6 or 7 knots in this way. If after this there is too much lace left, you should cut it off. The ends can be cauterized.

The clasp for the Shambhala bracelet is formed from such knots.

Knots are tied at the ends of the bracelet itself . Beads are attached to them - one bead at each end. After the beads, knots are also tied . Let them be the simplest. After all, their main purpose is not to decorate, but to fix the beads. Excess cords should, of course, be removed.

Thanks to these laces and clasp, the Shambhala bracelet can be conveniently adjusted to fit any hand.
